"Nari," Jake said as he pulled me to the side. We had decided to go to one of the clubs near the restaurant after dinner. "I need a wingman."

"I do not have wings nor am I a man, Jake." I said, taking a sip of my fizzy blue drink, and he narrowed his eyes at me.

"Listen smartass," he replied and I laughed. "See that girl over there?" I followed where he was pointing and I saw a cute petite girl in an adorable pink dress dancing and talking with a tall guy.

"Yes." I nodded. "It looks like she is already taken, though."

"No, that's her friend. I asked." Jake said. "But he won't let anyone near her. I figured you could distract him."

"Distract him? With what?"

"Your... female assets." Jake said, gesturing to my dress. "Long enough for me to talk to her."

"Can one of the guys not do this?"

"They don't have your assets, do they?" Jake replied. "Please, Nari. He's cute. You might enjoy yourself."

"Fine," I sighed. "If this works, you owe me."

"My first born, I promise."

I finished the rest of my drink, handing the glass to Jake before walking over to the guy and the girl. She smiled at me, tilting her head, looking over my outfit.

"Your dress is beautiful!" She said before I got the chance to say anything.

"Thank you. Yours is adorable! I love your style."

"Why are you here?" The guy asked and I smiled at him.

"I was... um..."

"Don't be so intimidating, Jiwoo." The girl slapped the guy's arm. "She probably wanted to dance with you."

"I did..."

"Didn't I see you with that shorter guy earlier? Is that not your boyfriend?" He asked, folding his arms, looking down at me. He meant Jungwon.

"No, he is my best friend. If you don't want to..." I take a step back. She is nice, but this guy was intense. Jake is on his own.

"Jiwoo, stop being this way and dance with the pretty girl. It's no wonder you are single!"

Can I dance with her instead? Seriously, I love her. How is someone sweet and fun friends with someone this grumpy? I wondered if Jake would mind switching.

"Fine. We will dance."

I let the guy lead me away from the girl and we start to dance.

"What's your name?" He asked me.

"Nari."

"Why did you really come over, Nari?"

"My friend was afraid to approach your friend with you there."

"I figured it was something like that. Is your friend a good guy?"

"A bit goofy, but yes. He is."

We looked over to see Jake and the cute girl laughing.

"She looks happy."

"Are you two really not..."

"No. Just friends. It's been like that since we were young."

"And you've never tried to date? She is adorable."

"She is my sister, basically. I couldn't imagine anything like that with her. It's gross."

"Oh," I nodded. Their situation was a lot like Jungwon and mine. Best friends since they were young. But they weren't attracted to each other.

"Your friend from earlier..."

"We are the same as you guys." I lied, nodding.

"No, I was going to say your friend from earlier doesn't look happy." He said, pointing to my side. I turn to see Jungwon at my side, jumping slightly at the proximity.

"Jungwon," I said. "You startled me."

"Let's go back." He looped his arm through mine, pulling slightly.

"Jungwon I am talking. Don't be rude." I said and Jungwon turned toward Jiwoo.

"Sorry." Jungwon said, turning toward Jiwoo and placing a hand on the small of my back. "Jungwon."

"Jiwoo." The guy nodded and glanced over his shoulder. "Nari and I were just discussing friendship dynamics."

"Don't you have a girlfriend?" Jungwon asked, not seeming to hear a word Jiwoo was saying.

"No. As you can see, your other friend is talking with her now." Jiwoo pointed, his tone still polite, which is more than I can say for Jungwon's.

"You just jump from one girl to another, then?"

"Jungwon!"

"It was nice talking with you, Nari." He said to me, "I should go check on her, though."

"Good luck." I said and he nodded before heading back over to his friend and Jake.

"Can we go now?" Jungwon asked, his chin on my shoulder now, face looking toward me.

"Do you not see an issue with what you just did?"

"That guy? You weren't serious about him."

"I could have been. How do you know?" I asked, moving my shoulder so he had to move his head.

"He is way too tall for you." Jungwon looked over to where Jiwoo and Jake were talking. "And he looked scary."

"I didn't give any signal that I needed saving." I shook my head as we reached Jay and Heeseung. "We are going to head back." I told them.

"Already?"

"Jungwon is getting fussy." I said.

"I am not a baby."

"Stop acting like one then." I said.

Jay and Heeseung exchange a look, but neither says anything. They just nod.

Jungwon and I did not talk on our way back to the hotel.

"Why are you upset?" He asked, once we are back in the hotel and I am getting out my clothes to change. He tried to wrap his arm around my waist, but I shoved him away.

"You were rude to that guy and you embarrassed me." I said, pulling out a pair of pajamas. "You can't act like that."

"I thought he was hitting on you."

"What if he was? That isn't a terrible thing."

"You really want to be the kind of girl that was with me in the shower earlier and then with some other random guy in the night?"

"There you go again." I shook my head. "About the type of girl I am. I wasn't going to do anything with him, I was helping Jake. He was afraid of the guy and needed me to distract him so he could talk to his friend."

"Oh." Jungwon said. "I didn't..."

"But if I was into him, that would be fine. Because per our pact, we can look for someone to get serious with, because you don't want to actually date. You just want to have sex."

"Dating would ruin..."

"Our friendship, yeah, you've said that." I interrupted him again. "Though insulting me and embarrassing me isn't doing a lot for our friendship either, Jungwon."

With that I go into the bathroom and lock myself there, not able to talk to him.
