I stayed in that room for a while, confused about what just happened. When I finally came to my senses and went looking for Jungwon, I am met with Jay outside the door.

"Are you okay?" He asked, looking me over. "He didn't yell at you too much did he?"

"What?"

"Jungwon. Sunoo said he took you away to scold you and then he came out really upset. Told me to wait here and make sure you get home."

I let Jay lead me to the rideshare, both of us too drunk to drive. He opened the door and allowed me to slide in. By that time I had tried calling Jungwon five times and it went straight to his voicemail. My texts aren't being delivered either. He has his phone off or he has blocked me.

"Hey hey hey," Jay cupped my face in his hands, wiping the tears I didn't even know were pouring from my eyes. "What's wrong?"

"Jungwon..." I sobbed, not able to elaborate.

"He must have been really hard on you." Jay said and took me in his arms, stroking my back soothingly. I shook my head and pushed him away. Even as drunk as I am, I know I can't keep doing this.

"Jay," I said, wiping my face with the back of my hand, probably sending makeup across it. I don't care anymore. "You have been great, really."

"Thank you." He said, sounding a little confused.

"You are so sweet to me and you are gorgeous. But I can't keep going out with you."

"Wait..." Jay said, his face twisting in realization. "You are breaking up with me?"

"We weren't together." I corrected him. "We only went out a few times, never anything official. I am just saying I can't keep going out with you."

"Why?" He asked and I can tell he is trying to keep his tone even and not yell. "Things were going so well."

"I know." I nodded. But I can't keep going out with Jay when things like tonight keep happening with Jungwon.

"You are drunk." Jay finally said, looking to the floorboard as the car stopped in front of my apartment.

"Yes." I agreed, nodding, not sure what that had to do with our conversation. Jay told the driver to wait while he gets me to my room and he will be back. He carried me all the way to my apartment.

"Are you going to be okay from here? Do you want me to come in?" He asked and I shook my head.

"I will be fine. I don't think you coming in would be a good idea." I said and he nodded, kissing my forehead. Wait a minute, did he not get what I said before? I opened my mouth to tell him again, but he placed a finger over my lips to stop me.

"I will call you tomorrow, Nari. You are too drunk to be making these kinds of decisions." He said. "With my luck, you won't even remember our conversation in the car."

Not wanting to argue, because I suddenly felt very sleepy, I just nodded and keyed in my door code. I change out my shoes and immediately went to Jungwon's room. It is empty, he isn't home.

He blocked me and didn't come home. Where was he? Had he left the room and found another girl to go home with?

I walked over and laid down in his bed. I only intended for it to be a minute, I was too tired to go to my room. If Jungwon came back he would be upset that I had outside clothes in his bed.

The next thing I know I am waking up from a weird dream where Jungwon was a shark in the ocean and I was trying to save him. The telltale signs of my hangover were clear even before I opened my eyes. My head was pounding already, my mouth was so dry I felt like if I didn't get water soon I would die. My entire body ached with soreness I only got what I drank.
