As I watch my top and brightest student in the hospital bed, I realize she's strong but she's not invincible.
She's been happier with Erik, but she's unfocused.
I told waters publishing, that if they really wanted her, to wait a month, but they didn't have time to waste waiting on me to prepare her.
So they said no to Emily.
I knew it'd crush her.
I just didn't realize how much.
As I stare at the door they've kicked me and Erik out of I know that she's in there having trouble fighting because of me.
I should've waited and gave her false hope till she was better but she deserved the truth.
I just didn't realize the consequences would send two doctors and a nurse in there with her.
I was so happy for her and Erik when I figured out they were talking about each other that I knew I'd have to pair them up but Emily's gotten to distracted. I fear that if this continues there won't be an Emily left. She's like a daughter I never had and I can't sit by and watch her slowly disappear.
Teachers care about our students health but seeing as there's no more I can do I go to my office at the school and get back to work.
It's time for a lecture about health tomorrow and hopefully no one else in my class ends up in the hospital.
