Harmony Briseis Osabutey Two Days Later | 02/26/21
In her living room, Harmony sat cross-legged on the floor, her fingers vastly shuffling the earned bills, counting each one with urgency as the remains of her two days' hard work lingered upon her.
After tallying her earnings, she meticulously subtracted the amount owed to Torah, jotting down the remaining amount in her well-worn notebook, the pages filled with the remnants of countless transactions.
With a practiced ease, she banded the cash together with rubber bands before carefully placing both her notebook and the bundled money into the sturdy safe in her bedroom closet. Finally, she retrieved the club's money, tucking it into her purse.
Harmony stepped into her bathroom, freshening up before spraying on a light mist of perfume, then she oiled her scalp. After applying moisturizer on her body, she slipped into a snug burgundy crop top that accentuated her figure, allowing herself to go braless. She paired it with loose black sweatpants that hung comfortably at her hips, allowing freedom of movement, and slid into her cozy black socks before topping it off with matching crocs.
Grabbing her phone, keys, and purse, she took a final glance in the mirror, a confident smile creeping on her lips before she exited her house, getting in her car to head to the club.
THIRTY MINUTES LATER after grabbing breakfast from McDonalds- a McGriddle, hashbrown, medium Caramel Frappe with crushed Oreos- she pulled into the parking lot of the club.
"Of course he's here early." She spoke to herself as she exited the car, glaring at Torah's 2020 Cadillac Escalade before entering the club.
She stepped inside, her eyes momentarily gazing around. Hesitantly, she made her way towards the staircase, and she ascended the steps. When she reached the top, she paused for a moment, glancing around once more before approaching the door to Torah's office.
"Game of Chess, right?" She took a deep breath, steeling herself against the familiar rush of nerves, and then raised her hand to knock on the door.
There was a moment of silence, and then she heard the unmistakable sound of footsteps approaching. The door swung open, and there stood Torah, casually leaning against the frame, and the corners of his lips curled into a sly smirk that lit up his eyes, making her pulse quicken.
"You early, Lil Foenem." He quietly spoke, his voice smooth. He made no effort to hide the rapidly growing curiosity in his eyes, a shade of mischief behind them.
"I'm here to talk business before the meeting and work tonight." She shrugged with a returning smirk, and with a low chuckle, he stepped aside, gesturing for her to enter.
Harmony met his gaze, unyielding and confident as she crossed the threshold into the office. As she walked past him, she felt the heat of his presence lingering close.
