Offroad POV
Breakfast was quickly turning into Offroad's least favorite part of the day. Ram wouldn't make eye contact with him nor would Daou. His mother would but she just gave him sad smiles. His father ate like normal and Earth kept looking around the table trying to figure out what was going on. Offroad pushed his food on his plate, he had lost his appetite. When he had saved the alpha sitting across from him he never thought his life would become this complicated. Offroad started laughing out loud causing everyone to look at him like a crazy person.
"Son?" His father asked, finally pausing shoveling food into his face.
"God let's just get this over with," Offroad laughed. "Everyone out!" Offroad yelled. "Not y'all," Offroad said, glancing around the table at everyone who was seated.
"Someone want to tell me what is going on?" His father asked, confused as he watched the maids and other guards clear the room.
"I didn't want to marry Luke," Offroad announced. "I loved him yes, but I couldn't do it that is why he made our engagement so public and such a grand affair, I wanted out and he trapped me, knowing I wouldn't say no in front of all those people,"
"Offroad, I didn't-" Ram started but Offroad held a hand up to stop him.
"Maybe it's this that everyone is talking about and not my sex life which is why they go silent when I walk into a room," Offroad laughed, still pushing his food around with his fork. "There is stuff I do not think I will ever be ready to talk about but just know, after the engagement the man I did once love was getting harder and harder to find,"
"You really don't need to talk about this," Daou said from across the table looking uncomfortable.
"You are right, I don't, but I'm going to because I am tired of the tiptoeing," Offroad said, putting his fork down. "So, there you go, the truth, well the part you need to know anyways," Offroad turned to his father who was clearly biting the inside of his cheek in irritation. "Your turn,"
"I never liked the little shit he was weak, like his father," His father growled. "I try to speak highly of him because I know part of you loved him and still does, but when you have children you will understand why I did what I did,"
"I'm sorry," Offroad said, looking down at Ram. "I'm sorry, I couldn't keep my promise to you, and I'm sorry I got your family killed," Offroad said as he heard a gasp from Daou across the table.
"Your promise was to him?" Daou asked, pointing at Ram. "You mean he is doing all this dumb shit because of you?" Daou asked Ram
"It isn't dumb shit," Ram argued. "Lowbornes are treated worse than trash, you know this,"
"It was you," Daou growled glaring at Ram with a deadly stare and Offroad watched Ram hand his head.
"It was him, what?" Offroad asked now confused.
"He told your father, didn't you?!" Daou yelled across the table.
"Ram?" Offroad asked and was met with silence. "Dad," Offroad turned and looked at his father. "Ram!" Offroad ended up screaming, throwing his fork down.
"I could hear the fighting, you screaming, in my bedroom!" Ram screamed back standing up from the table. "Every single time," Ram stressed each word. "It was getting worse,"
"He did what he thought was right son," his father said finally speaking. "The plan however got botched," his father sighed. "Luke refused to let you come home I called Ron thinking he would just call the boy not that he would return home with his wife,"
"So for years, you both have let me sit here hating myself? Thinking this was all my fault?" Offroad asked, looking between Ram and his father. "And you," he directed at Ram. "Let me feel guilty! I made that promise out of guilt!"
