Once Hanna and Shelley got the boys over to the canteen, JJ looked at them and literally counted, "Everyone's here."
Carys spotted someone special. She turned to look at Shelley and said, "Oh, you got Danny here too."
Shelley responded with a big smile and thumbs up.
Hanna stood behind Xenia and Lucia, who were typing on their laptops. She wondered if there were any progress. "How's the script?"
Xenia was the one who replied. "Haven't started writing, we're working on the plots."
Shelley thought it was about time to explain to the boys about what they were doing here. She cleared her throat and began explaining, "So, we were discussing whether or not to join the art festival, and what kind of art we are showing if we're joining..."
Shelley turned to look at Carys, and the latter added, "And Prim came up with a really good idea."
JJ patted on Prim's shoulder and encouraged her to share her own idea. "Prim, tell the boys your idea."
Prim took a deep breath and started to tell from scratches. "So, we're talking about art here, right?"
"Uh hmm," the boys nodded in response.
Prim continued to explain, "And we all must have been to one of the museums out there appreciating the most famous art pieces by, for example, Monet, Da Vinci, Picasso...And also the infamous paintings like Mona Lisa, and the Girl with Pearl Earrings.."
Prim stopped to see their reactions, making sure they were catching up with her words, then she continued, "Let's imagine all these paintings are in the same museum and we live in a world of magic, and the paintings will be alive during midnight."
Prim paused for a second to take a breath, before carrying on with her speech. "If those characters met each other in the museum, what are they gonna say to each other? What are they gonna do? Let's imagine the scenes and write a play to appreciate those artists. That's my idea."
Out of everyone's expectations, Mason opened his mouth and pointed out his confusion first. "But those paintings are from different times and places, they're now in separate countries..."
Hanna looked at her twin brother with a speechless expression on her face. "Use your imagination, Mason."
Elijah, who was being supportive as always, nodded his head and said, "That's actually a brilliant idea, I think it's interesting."
JJ looked thrilled to hear Elijah say that. "So, Elijah, are you in?"
There was no hesitation for Elijah to reply, "Why not? Of course I'm in."
Carys turned to look at Cohen, who was sitting beside her, playing with her left hand. "How about you, Cohen?"
Cohen looked up at his girlfriend, heaved a sigh, and replied, "I was going to say no, but since you're the one asking..."
Carys smiled at Cohen and turned to look at everyone else, finishing Cohen's sentence, "He's in."
Shelley nudged Rion on his elbow, "Rion?"
"There's no reason for me to say no, plus this seems fun, I'm in." Rion's agreement was not a surprise to Shelley, he was always supportive of his friends.
Xenia was trying to be friendly and was hoping to break the ice between Mason and her, so she asked him, "Mason, you're the one who knows most about paintings here. We need you, okay?"
Just when everyone was surprised by Xenia's actions and thought that Mason would only reply with a cold shoulder, Mason shocked everyone there with only one word, "Alright."
The best friends looked at each other as if Mason had ate something wrong that made his head blurred. Why would he suddenly respond to Xenia's questions after refusing to talk to her for months?
Later when Cohen and Mason were alone, he told him the reason. There were too many people there at that time, and he didn't want Xenia to feel awkward because of him.
Molly didn't know the drama between Xenia and Mason, she turned to her classmate who get dragged here by Shelley and asked if he wanted to join them, "Danny, you in?"
Danny looked at everyone's faces before carefully opening his mouth to ask, "What will happen to me if I am the only one saying no here?"
Shelley shrugged her shoulders. "That's totally up to you, just say if you're joining us or not."
Danny glanced at his childhood best friend and raised an eyebrow. "Is that threatening?"
Shelley looked at Danny questioningly. "How on earth does 'up to you' sound threatening to you?"
Danny raised a hand and waved it in front of his own face. He explained, "It's because your tone and face look quite threatening..."
Shelley hit Danny in the shoulder before saying, "I'm not threatening you. Though we need every help we can get, it's really okay if you don't want to join."
"Alright," Danny nodded his head after making a quick consideration. "I'm in if you promise me that I won't go on stage to perform or act anything.."
"Sure, no problem! Maybe you can help with the props!" Eliza raised her hand to recommend herself. "And I can help with the costumes!"
"Costumes?" Hanna heard the word that caught her ear. She immediately said, "I can help with that as well..."
Lucia clapped her hands twice to try to get everyone's attention. "Great, great! But for now, since we haven't come out with the script yet, maybe let's work together on the script first?"
Prim raised her hand and said, "Or maybe we can each share some ideas on how a character from a painting will act in real life? And also decide on which paintings we should include in the story."
Elijah looked at his watch and agreed with Prim. "Yeah, it's quite late now. Let's make a quick draft and we can continue the rest tomorrow."
The group of friends agreed and they discussed for 30 more minutes before everyone headed back to their dorm room to wash up and go to bed.
