Cohen was still deeply in sleep when his mother woke him up. "Cohen, honey, can you wake up?"
"Mom?" He could barely open his eyes, but he could see his mother's figure. "What's going on? What time is it?"
"Cohen, there's a place you dad needs you to go."
Cohen got up into a sitting position, facing his mother, still feeling drowsy. "Where?" He was too tired to speak more than one word right now.
"You'll know when you're there," that's all what his mom told him, "now get up and get changed, oh, and don't forget to brush your teeth."
He heard her mother left his room and closed the door, then he took his phone up to check what time it was. It surprised him when he saw it's only 7:03 in the morning.
Where the hell did his dad want him to go made him has to get up at 7 o'clock?
He crawled out of his bed and went to the bathroom to wash up. After that he was only half awoke, he didn't even know what were him wearing when he walked downstairs.
His parents and sister, Amelia, were already eating breakfast. He couldn't bother to ask why was Amelia awake too, since she usually woke up at 7 something.
Cohen made his way to the sofa in the living room and slept on it. He could hear his father asking him to go take breakfast but he's too tired to eat anything at that moment, all he wanted to do was to continue his sleep.
-
"Cohen, wake up. We're here."
Cohen opened his eyes to find himself in his father's car, he has no memory of getting into the car or getting out of the sofa he was sleeping on, and most important of all, what the hell did his father mean when he said 'we're here'? Where exactly was his father taking him?
Cohen looked out the window and he saw a board with 'Marshall's Campsite' writing on it.
Campsite? What were they doing at a campsite?
Wait. Something's wrong. Marshall's Campsite? Wasn't that the campsite where the summer camp Carys went to took place at? What were they doing here? What was he doing here?
"Dad, what are we doing here?" He decided to ask his father who gave no response to his question.
"Oh, that's Uncle Henri's car." Uncle Henri? If Uncle Henri was there, meaning that his twins would be there too, having the very same fate as his own.
Cohen got out of the car, and looked for his best friend. He's not surprised when he saw Mason and his twin sister, Hanna, were there as well.
"Good morning, Uncle Henri."
"Good morning, Uncle Robert."
Three of them greeted each other's fathers at the same time, and both of them also replied at the same time. "G'Morning."
"We're not too late, right?" Uncle Henri asked Cohen's father, looking at his watch.
"No, the opening ceremony is 9am..." As his father said, Cohen glanced at his watch too, and it showed 8:33am.
The two old friend carried on talking about other things that Cohen had no interest in, while he whispered to Mason, "What are we doing here?"
"No idea, I basically got dragged here, still not fully awake." He could tell by the half-opened eyes of Mason's that he's still very sleepy, so he turned to his twin sister, Hanna, and asked her the same question.
Hanna shook her head and said, "I wish I knew."
The three of them followed their father to a room beside a stage, (seriously, there's a stage inside a campsite), and went up to ask his father the question he's been asking everyone since he got here once again. "Seriously, dad, what are we doing here?"
