I felt so incredibly blessed in this moment. The sky stretched out before me, a brilliant blue canvas dotted with soft, fluffy clouds. The sun shone brightly above, casting a warm glow over everything, and the gentle breeze carried the scent of the ocean and the freshness of nature. The scenery around me was absolutely breathtaking, lush green trees, colorful flowers in full bloom, and the shimmering sand of the beach that led to a crystal clear ocean. The water was such a deep, rich blue, it almost seemed unreal.
Just the day before, Janet and I had stepped into the water together, her hand in mine as we felt the waves crash over our feet. The sound of the ocean, the warmth of the sun, and the peacefulness of the moment made it feel like time had stood still. Janet had promised to take me on the most amazing journey before the release of her album All For You, and I couldn't have asked for a better travel companion.
We'd already been to Japan for three weeks, just the two of us exploring new sights, tasting new foods, and sharing experiences that felt so personal, so intimate. It was my first time traveling to Japan, but not Janet's of course, she was tour guide. Janet was showing me the world in ways I had never imagined, introducing me to new cultures, cuisines, and places that I had always dreamed of visiting. But more than the destinations, it was the way she made every moment feel special. She was truly taking me places, not just physically but emotionally, opening my eyes to the beauty in the world and in her.
After Japan, we flew to New York, where I had two runway shows and a fashion shoot. But when it was over, Janet turned to me and asked where I wanted to go next. Without hesitation, I said Africa. And now here we were, in Cape Town, at one of the most luxurious five star hotels you could find. The kind of place where every detail was perfect, every luxury at our fingertips.
The warmth of the sun kissed my skin, making me feel weightless, like I was floating on a cloud. Every inch of me was at ease, and the world around us seemed to fade into the background. The sounds of nature, the soft rustle of the wind, the distant sound of the ocean, blended together in perfect harmony with the beating of my heart, which seemed to slow to match the peaceful rhythm of the moment.
Janet was lying on top of me, her body perfectly fitting against mine, as if we were meant to be this close. Her head rested in the crook of my neck, and I could feel the steady rise and fall of her chest, matching the rhythm of my own breathing. Her warmth seeped into me, grounding me in the most comforting way. The sun bathed her skin, highlighting the beauty of her face as she closed her eyes, enjoying the tranquility.
With one hand tangled in her soft hair, I gently ran my fingers through it, feeling the silken strands slip between my fingers. My other hand traced the curve of her back, caressing her as if I were memorizing every contour. The feel of her beneath my touch was so natural, so right. I couldn't stop smiling as I looked at her, this incredible woman in my arms.
As Janet laid on top of me, I couldn't help but feel like the luckiest person in the world. Every inch of me felt alive in her presence, my heart swelling with affection for the woman who had become my everything. The warmth of the sun on our skin, the gentle breeze that tousled our hair, and the sound of the ocean in the distance, all of it was perfect. But it was her, being so close to me, that made everything even more meaningful.
She wasn't supposed to be on my lounge chair, but I was glad she couldn't resist. The way she settled on me, her head resting against my chest, felt so natural. Like everything that had happened in our lives had led us to this moment. We planned to sunbathe, in the nude, Janet in her own lounge chair and I was in my own. I could feel her body rising and falling with each breath, her presence wrapping around me like a soft embrace, making me feel secure, loved, and cherished.
I couldn't stop smiling, especially when I thought about the trust and connection we were building. It felt like we were becoming one, sharing not just this moment but a future together. Every second with her was an opportunity to grow closer, to strengthen what we had. And in this peaceful, sunlit moment, I knew that whatever came our way, we would face it together.
