"What's happening... M-Mina?"
Third person's POV
A faint banging from the front door was heard as Mina, moving at the speed of light, pressed a secret button just underneath the handrest of the couch. Doing so, the couch suddenly starts moving downwards into what seemed like a room underneath. Amidst all this chaos, Mina glanced at Chaeyoung and gave her a sweet and heartfelt kiss on the cheek. Little does Chaeyoung know what true intentions lurk underneath that mask Mina is hiding under.
"Shh, baby, it's going to be alright. Just hold onto Mommy while we find a private place where no one can bother us."
After the couch arrives on another floor beneath the living room, the hatch above then closes shut.
Sana's POV
"Hurry up! They know we're here!" I order the 4 policemen trying to break open the metal front door.
"We are doing our best!" One of the policemen replies as he struggles to open the front door.
What is taking them so long?!
I finally gave up on the useless policemen that the department has claimed to be one of the best in the country. And yet we're still here struggling on how we could break into Mina's so-called mansion'.
Every area, every corner, and every crevice of this place was bombarded with tough materials that we can't destroy so easily. She really is this rich, huh?
It hurts me that I couldn't decipher the outcome of Mina's real intentions sooner. And I can't forgive myself for thinking it wasn't going to lead into anything serious when I knew the fact that Mina was a complete maniac that would do anything to get what she wants.
I was getting hopeless trying to find a way inside.
And I almost gave up when I saw a small hatch. However, it was too high for me to climb.
By myself at least!
I called for the policemen, and they instantly came running towards me.
"What's the problem?!" They form a row in front of me like I'm their sergeant.
"Help me get into that hatch." I point at said hatch.
They nodded and started to carry me up the hatch. After further examination, it seems to be a ventilation hatch.
I climb into it and scoot myself in. It was tight and barely fit me. But it wasn't anything unbearable.
"Ma'am! Should we come with?" They ask me from below.
"No, it's fine. You guys won't fit anyway! Guard the area for me while I'm gone." I replied and started to crawl my way into Mina's madhouse of secrets. The air grew musty as I navigated the narrow passage, each movement echoing softly in the confined space. My heart raced with anticipation; I had to see Chaeyoung, and this hatch was my only way in.
As I pressed deeper into the darkness, I could feel the weight of unseen eyes watching me, amplifying my anxiety. Just then, a faint rustling sound echoed from the shadows, making me freeze in place, my breath hitching in my throat.
"Stop... a...ah..."
Someone whispered, tried to steady my head despite the fear clawing at me. The rustling grew louder, and I strained my eyes to pierce through the murky gloom, hoping to catch a glimpse of what lurked just beyond my sight.
Chaeyoung!
I could hear them below me. I felt a surge of urgency as I called out her name, my voice trembling. "Chaeyoung, is that you?!" The rustling stopped abruptly, and an eerie silence enveloped the space.
I broke down the air ventilation below me and landed on both my feet.
The moment I hit the ground, a chill ran down my spine, as if the very air was warning me of the danger that lay ahead. I took a cautious step forward, straining to hear any sign of her presence, my heart pounding in my chest like a drum.
A door.
A singular door in front of me.
I could hear faint, muffled voices inside. I mustered up all the courage I had and kicked open the door.
As it swung open, the dim light spilled out, revealing a room filled with a shadowy figure above a person that seems to be on a bed...?
As soon as I realized what they were doing, I got my pistol and pointed it at the devil herself.
"MINA! How could you?"
Mina turned slowly, her eyes widening in surprise, but there was a glint of something sinister in her smile.
"Oh, darling, you have no idea what you're interrupting," she purred, her voice dripping with mock innocence as she stepped away from the bed, revealing the unconscious figure beneath the tattered sheets. I could feel my heart racing as the weight of her words sank in.
"What have you done?" I demanded, my grip tightening on the pistol as my mind raced with the implications of her actions.
She tilted her head, a playful glint in her eyes. "Just a little game, sweetie," she replied, her tone laced with a chilling nonchalance. "And you've arrived just in time to play your part."
The room felt charged with tension, and I could sense that every moment counted. "What do you mean by that?" I asked, my voice steady despite the turmoil inside me, desperate to understand the twisted scenario she had in mind.
