Chapter 2

Garrick

I stood by the wheel of my ship looking at the Kingdom of Creezatia. It been a while since I been here. I tightened the grip on the wheel. A party was being held to celebrate the engagement of the Princess.

"Garrick." My head turned to see my twin sister coming up the stairs. A frown was on her pretty face. She was in a gown of red with a corset. Astrid, my youngest sister by 10 minutes as I remind her daily, hated dresses. She was more of a pants girl.

"You look lovely, my dear sister. You should wear dresses more often." I said with a smile. Her hazel eyes narrow at me and her nostrils flare in anger. Her black hair was down for the occasion.

"How do ladies wear these? They are too tight." Astrid glared down the steps as Drake stood leaning against the banister with a smirk on his face. "Unless someone tightened the strings to much. I swear we need another woman on this ship." Drake was my best friend and loyal friend.

"Come on, Little Bit. They are supposed to be tight." Drake snorted. Astrid grabbed a cup and tossed it at Drake. He caught it with an ease.

"To the point I can't breathe. No thank you." Astrid all but growled. Drake threw up his hands. "Say one more thing and I'll toss you overboard."

"Okay, Children. I swear you act like a married couple then my second and third." Astrid sent me a murderous glare and Drake just smirked. Drake's eyes land on me and came to stand at the wheel.

"You sure you don't want me to come with you and Astrid for this party?" Drake was worried the plan wouldn't work as I turn the wheel as we neared our approach.

"No. We will be noticed if there is to many." Astrid said, as she pulled a knife from one of the pockets of the dress and spun it. Of course, Astrid would find a dress to hide weapons. Astrid didn't trust the people in this kingdom. Drake crossed his arms.

"You really intend to kill the King? I heard the son is spoiled rotten and hates pirates just as much as his father. Might just want to kill both and let the daughter take the throne." Drake suggested.

"I also heard the daughter wants nothing to do with the politics of the Court and the King doesn't like his own flesh and blood. This marriage is a forced marriage." Astrid reminded Drake.

"Fuck arranged marriages. Can't believe its done here." Drake said.

"I kill my brother if he tried to do that to me." Astrid's eyes land on me with promise.

"It won't stop me from the killing the man if he hurts you." I promise. Astrid got a wicked smile on her face.

"I know you will, Big brother. And Drake and I would help you." Astrid said. We both were raised by a pirate father and we got his ruthlessness. "I just wish you would stop sleeping around with woman and settle down."

"I haven't found someone that likes me for myself not me being King." I glare at my sister. "Doesn't stop you from sleeping with men and women." Astrid just gives her brother a smirk.

A bark comes from down below and a yell comes. Astrid turned as my eyes went to the stairs. A giant all black wolf dog came running up the steps carrying a steak in its mouth. I chuckle as my dog, Cerberus came running behind me.

Ace, our cook and the oldest of the crew came running up the stairs with a spoon in his hand. Felix, Hawk, and Cain following after him. Ace had a huge frown on his face as he glared at the dog.

"The mutt is on his final straw with me." Ace growled, pointing his spoon at Cerberus, who plopped down on the floor next to me. Of my six-foot one-inch height. The dog came up to my waist.

"Oh, but he's all cute and innocent." Astrid cooed as she hugged the dog. His tail hitting the deck. The dog might be loyal and my dog, but he loves Astrid.

"If someone would stop feeding him table scraps, I wouldn't be having this issue." Ace glared at Astrid, who looked completely innocent.

"I don't know what you're talking about." Astrid put her hands behind her back.

"Astrid. You spoil the dog of all the crew." I said. Felix snorts. Of the crew, we don't know why, but he refuses to talk, and we never knew why. He usually signs or writes, but sometimes we can get a laugh out of him.

"Like you don't do the same, Captain." Hawk said, looking out at the kingdom.

"Where are we docking the ship? We will be recognized." Cain said. Ace looked and realized where we were.

"So, we are here." Ace said.

"Astrid and I will take a longboat to the shore near the castle. Drake is in charge while I'm gone." There were groans from the others.

"So that's why Astrid is in a dress." Cain smirks. Astrid flings the knife at him and he yelps as it misses his balls by an inch. "You look good, Astrid."

"Don't get use to it, idiot. I am only wearing this for the party and going right back in my trousers." Astrid flicked her hair over her shoulder as she headed for the steps.

"Don't even ask to come." I follow her as Felix opened his mouth. "I am not dragging your drunk asses back to the ship."

"Make sure the Princess Astrid doesn't get drunk." Ace said. Astrid flipped him off as she reached the deck.

"Just come back alive, Captain." Drake said as he followed Astrid and me to the lifeboat. "Your walking into enemy territory."

"I'll make sure the King doesn't get to drunk and we have to bail him out of dungeons." Astrid smirked. I glared at my sister.

"Maybe we'll leave you here. I'm sure you'll fit right in." I said. Astrid's eyes flared with fire in them.

"But you'll miss me. I'm your favorite and if I stay, you'll have to leave Drake behind as well." Astrid smirked. I rubbed my temple.

"Get in the fucking boat, Little Bit." I said through gritted teeth. Astrid blew me a kiss and got in. "Why couldn't I have a brother or be an only child."

"It's bad enough you two shared a womb." Drake teased. I let out a sigh. "Get in the boat. Maybe you two will have fun at the party."

"Don't get to cocky being in command of this ship." I warn as I got in and Drake and Cain lower the lifeboat into the sea below. I grabbed the oars and start rowing towards the beach as the sun began to set in the horizon.
