"Not sisters by blood, but sisters by heart."
CHAPTER 6
the giant snake"Hey, you know what I'd like to know? Why send us down today after 97 years? What changed?", Finn asks curious as they all walk down a hill.
"Who cares? I'm just glad they did. I woke up rotting in a cell, and now i'm spinning in a forest", Madison says with a big, genuine smile on her face as she spins around a tree. She feels free and so powerful. No cells, no chains, no rules... just her.
"Maybe they found something on a satellite, you know, like an old weather satellite or it wasn't a satellite", Monty tries to think.
But he's wrong.
"It wasn't a satellite. The Ark is dying. At the current population level, there's roughly three months left of life support, maybe four now that we're gone", Clarke explains to them.
They all stop walking when they hear her explanation, but Clarke doesn't stop. She just walks past them.
"So that's the secret they locked you up to keep, why they kept you in solitary, floated your old man?", asks Finn curious as they all follow Clarke again.
"My father was the engineer who discovered the flaw. He thought the people had a right to know. The Council disagreed. My mother disagreed. They were afraid it would cause a panic. We were gonna go public, anyway, when Wells...", Clarke stops her sentence and looks down at the ground. She doesn't want to say anything more about it.
Madison knows what she wanted to say and somehow starts to feel sorry for her, even if she doesn't like her.
"What, turned in your dad?", Monty asks, not understanding.
Clarke sighs.
"Anyway, the guard showed up before we could. That's why today. That's why it was worth the risk. Even if we all die, at least they bought themselves more time", she explains further.
Wells was Clarke's best friend on the Ark, until he turned in her dad. Wells is the reason her father was arrested and floated. That's why they are no longer friends.
"They're gonna kill more people, aren't they?", asks Monty confused.
There is silence for a moment and Clarke doesn't answer the question.
"Good. After what they did to me, I say, float them all", Octavia says with a bitchy smile as she walks further away from them.
Madison rolls annoyed with her eyes at her comment, knowing she doesn't mean it anyway. Then she steps up to Clarke.
"We have to warn them", she says sweeter than usual.
Clarke expression's chance by her words. Surprised at her sweet voice.
