Chapter 12 My Great Treasure

Damien and Andra were wandering around the palace. They were looking for Orko. "Orko where are you?" Andra asked.

"Yes I need help testing an invention," Damien said.

"I need help getting something from under my bed and I can't fit due to how far it rolled under there," Andra said.

They came into his room and saw he wasn't there. "He's not here or in his magic room," Damien said. "He isn't anywhere is in the palace," he said. "I think he must be out practicing his magic and gathering things for his potions," he said.

"Yes we won't see him for a while," Andra said. Then she noticed something. "Hey what is that?" she asked coming up to a table next to Orko's bed. "Here is his clock and a few other things, but what is this thing I just now noticed it," she said picking it up.

"I don't know maybe Man at arms might know what it is," Damien said.

They left the room with the trinket and came into Man at arms lab. "Hey Damien and Andra what do you have there?" Man at arms asked.

"We don't know we found it in Orko's room while looking for him," Andra said.

"He is out practicing his magic and gathering stuff for his potions he will be gone for sometime," Man at arms said. "You two shouldn't have gone into his room and taken something out of there," he said. "You two should show some respect," he said.

"We meant no harm," Damien said. "we are are wondering if you can tell us what it is," he said handing it over.

Man at arms took a look at it. "It is of very interesting construction." Man at arms said. "I can tell it is well made and it something very important because it is well cared for." he said. "It has some sturdy parts from looking at it but when I hold it I can tell it has some delicate parts in it," he said. "Must be some kind chest to hold something, or some kind of special device from Trolla." he said.

Just then Orko stormed in with Adam following with Teela and Cringer. "Alright who was in my room?!" Orko demanded. "I want to know why they were in there and why they took a certain item," he said.

"Orko we thought you were out practicing your tricks for a while," Man at arms said.

"I was, but I had a bit of a problem, my ears and magic picked up a big thunderstorm coming quickly so I decided to come back to avoid getting rained on," Orko said.

Just then there was huge clap of the thunder and rain started pouring. Orko saw what he was looking for in Man at arms hands. "Hey why do you have that!?" Orko asked he took it from Man at arm's hands and looked it over. "It's very fragile," he said. "It has parts inside that are delicate," he said. "Sorry for snatching but this is a very special item to me, it is my great treasure," he said.

"Sorry Orko," Man at arms said. "Damien and Andra were looking for you and went into your room and grabbed it and brought to me because they didn't know what it was," he said. "I already told them they shouldn't have gone into your room without permission and taken something that was yours," he said.

"Sorry Orko," Damien and Andra said.

"What is it Orko?" Adam asked. "I have seen it many times before but never asked what it was," he said.

"Please show us Orko," Teela said.

"Okay," Orko said then took something out of his hat. Then he placed it into the side and began to turn it. Then he opened it and two Trollans with hands held in a dance were there and spun around as it is seemed they danced to the music that played.

"It's a music box," Man at arms said.

"Yes," Orko said. "My uncle had this music box made just for me, he had it made for me because I missed my parents so much and felt frustrated about missing them since they died when I was a baby and I never really knew them. He could see it caused me to struggle with things and decided to have it made," he said. "The song being played was a song my parents while they were still alive, loved to sing and dance to, together." he said. "it was their song," he said. "The figures inside that are dancing were made to look just like my parents, so I could see them dancing to the song they loved so much whenever it played." he said. "The one with curly hair with the hood and bright golden eyes in the pink dress is my mother she was my uncle Montork's sister, her name was Ilyne she was known as Ilyne the loving, the one with the purple hat and the purple robe with the large collar is my dad, he was my uncle Montork's best friend, his name was Unzo, he was known as Unzo the powerful," he said. "I love this music box very much," he said.

"Wow the song it is playing is very pretty," Teela said.

"Yes what is it called?" Adam asked. "I never heard that song on Eternia," he said.

"The song is called 'You are the magic of my heart'," Orko said. "That song is about the magic love brings and how love is more powerful than other types of magic and how it brings others together," he said. "Hearing that song makes me feel close to them even though I never knew them," he said. "It makes me feel connected to them and happy they gave me life, and it kind of makes me feel like I know them in a way even if it is not personally," he said.

"How sweet," Andra said.

"Thanks," Orko said. "I also sometimes talk to the figurines of my parents if they were my actually parents, I do that whenever I feel I need to tell them something important," he said. "Or that I just want to talk to someone who won't judge me or give me a lecture or that I feel like a person who just needs to talk to his mom and dad," he said. "I hope that isn't weird," he said.

"Of course it's not weird Orko," Man at arms said. Then he pulls something out of secret box he kept there. "This is my great treasure," he said. It was an old worn out teddy bear. "My dad gave me this when I was four and he died when I was eight and I feel I still need it because it reminds me of him, and I sometimes talk to it when I feel I need my father, so I don't find it strange," he said. "Many find ways to cope with missing people in their life," he said.

"Okay," Orko said feeling better. "Sometimes it is just hard," he said. "I lost them both almost every member of my family as a baby," he said. "My uncle Montork is all the living family I have left," he said. "I am all the family he has left," he said. "I wonder if he is wondering where I am and if I am alright because many Trollans who get caught in that storm like I did rarely get found alive,  so they probably think I am dead on Trolla," he said. "I wish I could see my uncle Montork again a lot of the time even if it is for just one second." he said. "Man at arms you remind me of uncle Montork in more ways than one, you are afraid to correct me when I get out of line, you are very smart, you are a good teacher and when I pass your bedroom at night your snoring sounds just like his," he said.

"I am surprised to hear I remind you of your uncle," Man at arms said.

"But don't worry little buddy, sometime you might see him again," Adam said. "Until then you got us," he said. The others agreed.

"Thanks guys," Orko said. "Now Andra, Damien, next time either of you have questions about anything in my bedroom or magic room just ask me about it, instead of taking it and finding someone else to explain it," he said.

"Sorry," Andra said.

"Me too," Damien said. "We will try to do better," he said.

"That is all I ask," Orko said.

Orko nodded and then wiggled his ears with much happiness making everyone laugh.

"Hi in today's story you saw how Damien and Andra went into Orko's room and took something of his," Adam said. "That didn't show much respect for Orko or the things that belong to him," he said. "So to show respect to someone ask before entering a room that is theirs, and ask before taking something of theirs and be careful with it," he said. "Do that shows respect," he said.
