The book has undergone extensive editing, and I’ve made a few updates to the details and scenes to improve the flow of the story.

Additionally, I’ve also uploaded Crimson Veins of Fate to Amazon Kindle. As for book 3, it will take a little longer to release, as it still needs some heavy editing.

If you’ve enjoyed this story and want to read it in much better quality, head over to Amazon Kindle and grab your copy. I’d love your support! For now, Riley Hayes will remain on Wattpad, but eventually, it will be removed.

Thank you so much for your continued support and for reading!

The dining room buzzed with energy, but it wasn't the comforting kind of hum I used to know from big family gatherings. It felt jagged, charged, like static crackling before a storm.

I tried to focus on the conversation, but my new senses made everything sharper, louder. Wyatt's voice was like gravel scraping in my ears. Christina's perfume—heavy and floral—sat like a weight on my tongue. Abigail tapped her fingers on the table, a rhythm that felt like a hammer in my skull. I wanted to tell her to stop, but the new me wasn't sure if my voice would come out as a whisper or a growl.

Leuca sat across from me, his jaw tight, his  eyes glinting with a cold fire. Not that we were truly  "together" yet, bonded. It sounded strange, but my vampire nature liked the sound of it. It wanted to be bonded with Leuca, forever. Married wasn't enough for it.  The thought made my throat dry, but I shoved it down and tuned back in.

"We can't just charge in there like we've got nothing to lose," Abigail was saying, her voice trembling despite the steel she was trying to put into it. "Archie—he's not... he's not just anyone. He's our father."

"And he's a monster," Leuca snapped, his voice like a blade slicing through her protest.

I glanced at Lazarus, who shifted uncomfortably in his seat, his pale hands clenched into fists. "Leuca, we don't know what he'll do if we push him. He's unpredictable, and if we go after him, we'll just be walking into his trap."

"That's assuming we wait long enough for him to set one," Damian said, his tone biting. "We should move before he does." He leaned forward, his dark eyes intense. "We've seen what he's capable of. He gave her—" he nodded at me without meeting my eyes—"that elixir knowing what it would do."

He'd known the pain it would cause, known how it would twist me up from the inside out. He wanted to cause Leuca even more pain, torn between my life or my suffering. I didn't want to think about those endless days and nights, every nerve in my body screaming as I clung to the edge of whatever was left of me. He needed to suffer too.

Rayna shifted nervously next to him. "But what if he's waiting for us to make the first move?" she asked quietly. "We could end up playing right into his hands."

"Better to do something than sit here and wring our hands," Leuca said, his voice low and dangerous. "He won't stop. He won't ever stop. Waiting only gives him more time to come up with something worse."
