"My back fucking hurts. I can't shower, I want decent fucking food." His complaining made me continuously laugh.
Lord Devonshire is camping and eating a bun with normal cheese as breakfast. But he took a bite, gagged, and handed me the rest as he said he'd eat breakfast later. Meaning me of course.
He's wearing lousy clothes and not a suit or some fancy dress shirt. I thought it was hilarious but he didn't think agree.
After breakfast, he did angrily pull me back into the tent and didn't waste a second before plunging his fangs into my wrist. I let him and carefully watched his eyes coat red.
I softly placed my hand on his cheek so he'd stop. "It's just this day and night, tomorrow we'll go back."
I saw the frustration in his eyes. "We'll go home." He replied.
I hummed though it didn't feel like home for me yet. I had a home that I was pulled out of. Before that, I didn't have a home either. I don't consider the faction a home either, my mother was home but everything around it wasn't. That also was a prison. While I was distracted by the thought of home I felt his hand brush mine.
His hands softly traveled up from my waist to my cheeks. He caressed them softly while his kiss became hungrier and hungrier. "We can't here," I whispered when I felt his hands traveling down and getting bold.
"I can smell your want, my love." He whispered.
I bit my lip and looked into his eyes, "you always call me that lately."
"Because it's true."
I looked at him questionably and fell silent. I wanted him to elaborate on that but he didn't say any more. "What do you mean it's true?"
He sighed and kissed me again, "you know damn well what that means." He said in between kisses, "you're mine, your gorgeous body, your strong spirit. All of it."
It made me chuckle. It's the same possessiveness but it sounds different. I think I know what he means but he's afraid to say it. I'm not dumb, I know how he treats me. I know he needs me. "Then you're mine too."
And I was just as stubborn to say it first.
He looked up, "I'm yours too?" He chuckled. "Do continue."
I rolled my eyes and playfully hit his shoulder. "What? If I'm supposedly yours then it is only natural you are mine too. Though not wife yet." I jokingly stuck out my tongue at him, using the words he said yesterday.
He talked over it yesterday but I didn't forget. He said not his wife, yet. He didn't reply and I saw he was at a loss for words. "Not your wife yet?" I wiggled my eyebrows.
And that's when his eyes widened even more and he looked down. Why did he look down? He never did. "what's wrong?" I asked. Was it too much of a joke? "It's just a joke..." I whispered.
It came out much more vulnerable than I meant to do. He is the father of my child and the man I loved, yes he is a vampire and I was raised to eliminate them all but he captured my heart. Hearing him call me almost his wife made me happy but he looked reluctant.
"Riley..." He then looked up. "You are human."
"Jeez didn't realize that!" I giggled nervously but saw he didn't find it funny.
He softly patted my cheek with the back of his fingers. "If only you weren't."
His words stung horribly. What does that mean? "If only I wasn't? Do you hear yourself? I could say the same to you." Tears brimmed my eyes and I couldn't help but push him back and leave the tent.
