"In the end take a left and then park in the parking lot," I instructed Leuca as he drove towards Gil's.
We all got out and Wyatt had already been waiting for us at the entrance. I didn't spare him a glance as I walked past him through the door.
The moment we walked in we were greeted by customers recognizing us. I loved this feeling, it was so cheerful and welcoming. "Hello everyone, " I waved at them and took the reservation list from its holder. I looked at Leuca and teased him a bit, "hmmm we are quite full actually..."
Leuca knew I was teasing him and grabbed the list from me. He received a damn golden pen from his pocket and wrote his name down.
Lord Devonshire.
"Ah, you didn't look close enough my name is on here." He chuckled as he handed me back to the list.
I pouted slightly, "well fine then, follow me." I guided him to one of our booths in the back and Damian already had grabbed some menus and also gave them to them.
"Riley, can we order some drinks please?" A couple from two tables to the right asked.
"I'll be with you in a minute," I replied and smiled. Another table also called to me already.
"Finally you two are here! What took you so long?" I recognized Marley's voice so I turned to him, revealing those sitting in the booth.
His eyes fell upon Leuca, Wyatt, and Christina and then he looked at me. A small frown on his face and even a look of horror on it. "Riley..."
I huffed, "it's fine, they're customers. Go take a break, Aria, and I will handle the front."
"I'm here too!" Damian pouted from next to me. He always helped out even though it wasn't necessary. But thank God he always did.
Marley hummed and ruffled Damian's hair, "that is reassuring." Marley looked reluctantly at Leuca but sighed and announced he would take a quick break.
Both Aria and I sped through the orders and in the meantime I saw from the corner of my eye Damian taking the order from Leuca's table.
Damian cleared his throat and looked at his father. "Have you made a decision?" He knew his father had quite some money so he viewed him as a valuable customer.
"Why are you working?" Leuca asked.
Damian squinted his eyes and looked confused. "To help mom? And the others of course." Damian replied.
Wyatt was laughing to himself, "the little Lord is working." He chuckled.
Christina slapped him on the back of the head. He had to show more respect in her eyes. But Damian already glared at him, "don't call me that."
It only made Wyatt laugh more.
Damian slammed his hand on the table, "you are worrying customers, shut the hell up." He whispered under his breath. His mother would pull his ear if he used that kind of language.
It was just amusing to Wyatt but a cough from Leuca had him stop in a matter of a second. Leuca looked back at his son, "someone of your status shouldn't work as a waiter."
Damian raised his eyebrows, "someone of my status?" He repeated, he knew what his father was implying.
"As my son, you shouldn't work in a diner, it is inappropriate," Leuca replied casually. "Especially not serving humans."
The diner was brewing with chatter but as soon as those words were spoken, most vampires had heard it and stopped talking. All vigilant. They didn't have the same thought process here as Leuca did.
