Hoseok stood frozen in front of the massive desk, clutching his CV like it was a lifeline. His mouth hung slightly open as he stared at the man behind the desk—Kim Taehyung. The same man he’d insulted and fought with just yesterday.
Taehyung smiled slightly with an eyebrow raised. “Well, isn’t this an interesting turn of events,” Taehyung said smoothly, his voice laced with amusement. "Look who’s here. Didn’t expect to see you again."
Hoseok’s stomach dropped. He forced a nervous smile, bowing slightly. "G-Good morning, sir."
Taehyung raised an eyebrow, clearly unimpressed. "Sir? That’s a change. Weren’t you the same kid screaming at me in the lobby yesterday?"
Hoseok’s face burned. "I-I didn’t know who you were..."
"Clearly," Taehyung said dryly, his gaze dropping to the CV in Hoseok’s hands. "Hand it over."
Hoseok hesitated for a moment before stepping forward and placing the CV on Taehyung’s desk. Taehyung picked it up, scanning the document with sharp eyes.
"Nineteen?" Taehyung questioned, looking up at Hoseok with a skeptical expression. "You don’t look nineteen. You look like you should still be doing high school homework."
"I-I just have a baby face!" Hoseok blurted, panicking. "Really, I’m nineteen. See? It’s on my CV."
Taehyung chuckled darkly, shaking his head. "Oh, yeah. Because no one ever lies on their CV."
Hoseok’s heart pounded in his chest. "I’m not lying," he insisted, trying to sound convincing.
Taehyung’s eyes narrowed as he leaned forward, resting his elbows on the desk. "Sure, you’re not. But if you’re so ‘nineteen,’ why do you look like a kid who got lost on their way to a playground?"
Hoseok’s jaw clenched, frustration bubbling beneath his nerves. "Maybe it’s my good genes! My mom says I’ll look twenty-five when I’m fifty."
Taehyung stared at him for a long moment before bursting out laughing, the deep, rich sound filling the room. "You’re bold, I’ll give you that." He tossed the CV onto the desk. "Alright, let’s see how bold you really are."
"What do you mean?" Hoseok asked hesitantly.
Taehyung’s smirk widened. "Before I hire you, I need to ask you some questions. Consider it... a test."
Hoseok blinked. "A test? What kind of test?"
Taehyung gestured to the chair across from him. "Sit down."
Reluctantly, Hoseok obeyed, perching on the edge of the seat like a kid called to the principal’s office.
Taehyung leaned forward, his eyes darkening slightly as he fixed Hoseok with an intense gaze. "Question one: Have you ever been tied up?"
Hoseok’s eyes widened. "What?"
Taehyung’s lips curled into a smirk. "You heard me. Have you ever been tied up? You know, for fun?"
Hoseok blinked several times, trying to process the absurdity of the question. "Uhm... no, I haven’t."
Taehyung’s grin widened. "Why not? You don’t like a little adventure?"
Hoseok shifted uncomfortably in his seat. "I-I don’t think that’s relevant to the job..."
"Well, if it’s not relevant, then I guess you won’t mind answering the next question." Taehyung’s voice dropped an octave, leaning closer as he spoke. "Have you ever been naked in front of someone, like... really naked?"
Hoseok froze, completely caught off guard. His face turned crimson, and he stammered, "W-Who asks these kinds of questions?"
"I do." Taehyung said, a wicked glint in his eye. "Answer me."
Hoseok's mouth went dry, his mind racing as he tried to think of a way out of this uncomfortable interrogation. "No... I mean, yes. But this isn’t... this isn’t part of the interview."
Taehyung raised an eyebrow, his smirk never fading. "Oh, it’s part of the interview. Every little detail counts when I’m considering a new staff."
Taehyung rested his chin on his hands. "Question three: Have you ever kissed someone?"
Hoseok blinked, his mouth falling open. "W-What?!"
"You heard me." Taehyung’s tone was calm, almost bored. "Answer the question."
Hoseok’s face burned. "I-I don’t see how that’s relevant to the job!"
"Oh, it’s very relevant," Taehyung said with a smirk. "You see, working for me requires a certain... level of experience."
Hoseok gawked at him. "Experience in what?!"
Taehyung ignored the question and moved on. "Question four: What’s your favorite position?"
Hoseok choked on air, his eyes wide as saucers. "P-Position?!"
"You know," Taehyung said casually, "doggy, standing, missionary, cowboy, 69... or maybe something more creative?"
"I’m not answering that!" Hoseok exclaimed, half-rising from his seat.
Taehyung’s smirk turned sharp. "Then you’re not getting the job."
Hoseok froze, his hands curling into fists. He sat back down, his jaw clenched. "Fine," he muttered. "Missionary. My favorite position is... missionary"
Taehyung’s grin widened. "How boring. But fine, let’s move on. Question fige: Have you ever been caught naked in public?"
Hoseok shot to his feet, his face bright red. "This is ridiculous!"
Taehyung leaned back, shrugging nonchalantly. "Your call. If you walk out now, no job."
Hoseok sat back down, glaring at the floor. "No, I haven’t," he muttered through gritted teeth.
Taehyung chuckled, clearly enjoying himself. "Good to know. Alright, last question: Do you know how to handle a boss who’s... demanding?"
Hoseok glared at him, finally snapping. "If by ‘demanding,’ you mean annoying and full of himself, then yes, I do."
For a moment, there was silence. Then Taehyung laughed—a deep, genuine laugh that made Hoseok’s embarrassment even worse.
"You’re a piece of work," Taehyung said, shaking his head. He stood, towering over Hoseok. "But you know what? I like you."
Hoseok blinked, stunned. "Wait... what?"
"You’re hired," Taehyung said simply. "As my personal assistant."
Hoseok’s jaw dropped. "Are you serious?"
"Dead serious," Taehyung said with a smirk. "You’ll start tomorrow. Don’t be late."
Hoseok stood, clutching his CV tightly. "Fine," he said, trying to sound nonchalant. "I’ll be here."
But as he walked out of the office, his heart was racing. He couldn’t believe it. He’d gotten the job. Sure, Taehyung was insufferable, but a job was a job.
And deep down, Hoseok couldn’t deny the thrill that came with working for someone like Kim Taehyung.
