Taehyung’s penthouse was breathtaking. It was sleek, modern, and sprawling—a blend of minimalistic design and understated luxury. Hoseok’s gaze wandered over the open space, from the towering floor-to-ceiling windows to the elegant furniture, each piece looking like it belonged in a high-end catalog.
He stood frozen at the entrance, his jaw slightly slack.
“This isn’t a house,” Hoseok muttered under his breath, “this is a palace.”
Taehyung, closing the door behind them, chuckled softly. “It’s just home,” he said, gesturing for Hoseok to follow.
They entered the living room, and Hoseok hesitated before sitting on the plush cream-colored couch. He perched awkwardly, his hands folded neatly in his lap. Taehyung glanced at him and scratched the back of his neck, suddenly unsure of what to do.
“Would you like something to drink?” Taehyung asked, his tone warm but slightly nervous.
Hoseok shook his head quickly, his cheeks turning pink. “No, I’m fine. Thank you.”
Taehyung hummed and nodded, sitting beside him. For a moment, silence stretched between them, heavy but not uncomfortable. Both of them fidgeted, their thoughts racing until they spoke at the same time.
“This is beautiful—”
“Do you—”They paused, stared at each other, and then broke into laughter. Hoseok giggled, the sound light and musical, while Taehyung’s deeper chuckle reverberated softly through the room.
“I want to know more about you,” Taehyung said suddenly, turning his body slightly to face Hoseok. His dark eyes held an intensity that made Hoseok’s pulse quicken.
Hoseok tilted his head, smiling shyly. “I want to know more about you too.”
Taehyung blushed and looked away, fiddling with his hands. “About me?” he asked, his voice almost a whisper.
“Yes. Anything,” Hoseok encouraged.
Taehyung sighed, contemplating where to start. “Alright,” he said after a beat. “I guess… well, I’m the only child, obviously. My parents always expected me to take over the family business, and I’ve been groomed for it my whole life. But sometimes, I wonder if this is all I want to be. You know, just a CEO, a name on a board, someone who works day in and day out but doesn’t really live.”
Hoseok’s eyes softened. “That sounds lonely.”
“It can be,” Taehyung admitted. He glanced at Hoseok, his gaze lingering a bit too long. “But then there are moments like this. Moments that remind me that there’s more to life than what I’m used to.”
Hoseok flushed under the weight of Taehyung’s stare, but he didn’t look away. “You’re not just a CEO, Taehyung. I think you’re… deeper than that.”
Taehyung smiled faintly, his voice dropping to a near whisper. “Thank you for saying that.”
“What about you?” Taehyung asked. “Tell me something about yourself.”
Hoseok thought for a moment. “I’m just a regular guy. I work hard, try to do my best, and—” He hesitated, then chuckled. “Honestly, I don’t think I’m all that interesting.”
“I think you’re wrong,” Taehyung said earnestly.
Hoseok blinked, taken aback by the sincerity in Taehyung’s tone.
Taehyung leaned back, studying Hoseok’s features before asking, “What’s something you regret?”
Hoseok hummed thoughtfully. “I regret letting my friend convince me to go to a party.”
Taehyung raised an eyebrow. “Why?”
“Because…” Hoseok sighed. “Because I got into a one-night stand.”
The corner of Taehyung’s mouth twitched upward. “Wait. What?”
“It’s true!” Hoseok exclaimed, his face heating. “I don’t even know the guy. It was drunken sex, and I barely remember anything.”
Taehyung laughed, the sound rich and genuine. “I can’t picture you doing something like that.”
“Well, I did,” Hoseok said, pouting slightly.
Taehyung leaned forward, a mischievous glint in his eye. “You know, I had a one-night stand too. My first one. With this boy. I can’t even remember what he looked like, but… God, the way our bodies fit…”
“Okay, okay, I don’t need the details!” Hoseok interrupted, his face now bright red.
Taehyung chuckled, shaking his head. “But seriously, it was the best sex I’ve ever had. I’d love to meet him again. Just to chat…” He smirked. “And maybe fuck again.”
Hoseok furrowed his brows. Something about Taehyung’s words felt too familiar.
“But…” Hoseok began hesitantly, “what about the kiss we shared? Was that just to shut me up, or did it mean something?”
Taehyung froze, clearly unprepared for the question. He ran a hand through his hair, but before he could respond, Hoseok’s eyes caught something.
“Wait,” Hoseok said, grabbing Taehyung’s wrist.
“What?” Taehyung asked, confused.
Hoseok stared at the bracelet on Taehyung’s wrist. “This… This is mine.”
Taehyung blinked. “What are you talking about?”
“My best friend made this bracelet for me,” Hoseok explained, pointing at the small initial. “See? That’s an H. It stands for Hoseok. How did you get this?”
Taehyung’s eyes widened. “No way…” he whispered. “This bracelet belongs to the boy I had a one-night stand with.”
Hoseok stared at him, his jaw slack. “I’m sorry, what?”
Taehyung stood abruptly, pacing the room. “Oh my God. It’s you. Hoseok, it’s you. You’re the boy I’ve been longing for. My one-night stand.”
Hoseok shot to his feet, his mouth opening and closing wordlessly. If Taehyung was the guy from that night, then…
“Oh my God,” Hoseok whispered, covering his mouth. His mind reeled as realization crashed over him. If Taehyung was that guy, then that meant…
Taehyung was the father of his unborn child.
