7. Gale

Peeta's POV 

I woke up the next morning feeling great. I looked at the clock and it read eleven am. I looked at the dresser and saw a note. I grabbed the note and looked at the handwriting. 

It's from Effie.

Peeta, 

In just five hours you are going to be on the train heading back to district 12. Reminder, that in your bags will be a special bag to help you while you are at home. You must take them. Haymitch will meet you at the train station at four pm, he will be your mentor again and like a father figure to help you through everything. I am so proud of you, and I have faith in you. My strong victor, you are the face of the future, and you are going to get everything you deserve. Be safe and in due time we will meet again.

I smiled and read the note over and over again. I get to go home. The first person I want to see is Katniss. I want to hug her and rebuild us. Start our future, we deserve it. 

I jump out of bed and start packing all my bags up. I finish packing and head towards the bathroom to get a shower. I shave my mustache and beard and fix my hair. I walk back into my room and walk over to the dresser and grab the picture of Katniss. I kiss the photo and smile.

I will finally be able to be with her again. I'm going to have to be slow though and work myself back up to me again. I have a lot of learning to do but I will get through it. 

I look at the clock and it read two pm. I leave my hotel room and head towards the dining area. I enter the dining room and see the table set for lunch. I went and sat down and ate my lunch. The whole time I was smiling. I get to go home to my girl on fire. I get to confess my love, I never really been able to. 

The last time I saw her was when she tried to take the night Lock pill. That still breaks my heart. I want to know why she was going to take it. 

I finish eating my lunch and head upstairs towards my room. I arrive at my room and see my door cracked open. I open the door slowly and see a figure standing at the dresser. I couldn't see who it was, and I looked more to see them holding a picture of Katniss. I clenched my fist and walked more into the room to make myself known. The persons head perks up and turns around.

I grew angrier, when I saw it was Gale. 

"What the hell are you doing here? shouldn't you be in district two feeling useless for yourself?" I say angry.

Gale smiles and laughs. 

"Aw Peeta, I love how tense and angry u get sometimes, it could be useful when u go back home to Katniss." Gale said with a smile. 

I walk towards him and get in his face. 

"What did you just say u bitch?"

Gale laughs and walks away from and goes to sit down in the chair across from my bed. I go and sit on my bed and just stare at him with death eyes. 

"Calm down Peeta, I'm here to just let you know a little something."

I furrow my eyebrows but still continue to give him that death stare. 

"I know you're in love Katniss, I know you want to protect her and be with her, but so do I. I loved her way before you did. I was around first. I was there for her when you were just a baker's boy. So imma tell you, yes I'm heading back home to district 2 to direct and order, but I will come to district 12 when you least expect it and try to win her over, and I won't stop until she kills me."

I laugh. "She wants nothing to do with you gale, she hates you. and yes, I Love her, and I will protect her and don't worry you can come there and try, and I can't wait for the day when she shoots you with her arrow." I smile. 

Gale laughs. "How are you going to protect her Peeta? You're going to be the one hurting her. You are still wired; you are still messed up. you think going home to her is a good idea? you could kill her."

I have a blank stare at gale. Hès right but I won't let him be right. 

"that's where you are wrong, I am wired to hate her, but no amount of hijack can make me kill her or hate her, my love is stronger than anything." I say proudly. 

Gale smiles and looks at me. 

"I want to give you an ultimatum."

"What."

"I will leave here now and go home to district 2. I will leave you and Katniss alone for a year. In exactly one year I will return to district 12. If she is not with you and she claims she doesn't love, you and doesn't try to kill me then she will come home with me. If she does love, you and you guys are together then I will leave you guys alone."

I laugh. "I'm not basing Katniss, and I love on an ultimatum, our love is pure and doesn't need a year from you to prove anything, you can come whenever you want and when that moment is, she will kill you and I will stand there and help her get a clear shot." I smile. 

Gale nods. "Your goanna regret it all Peeta. I will just kill her instead. If you try to get in my way, then neither one of us will get her."

As soon as gale said that my anger started to rise. I launch off the bed and land on gale. He tries to get me off but it's no use, I'm way stronger than him. I grab him by his collar and start punching him in the face over and over again. I look to my right and see my hunting knife lying on the table stand. I grab my knife and stab Gale right in the leg. 

He screams in pain. I laugh and begin to stab him over and over again. I hear a bunch of noise in the background but it doesn't make me stop. I feel arms around me and someone pulling me off. I look up and see Finnick. 

I get out of Finnick's grasp and catch my breathe. I stare down at gale who is looking at me scared. Hès holding his leg while blood is gushing out of it. I laugh. "Now, you will leave here and go home to district 2, do not and I'm so serious gale, come near me and kat, I will kill you next time and I WON'T HESITATE, THAT IS A THREAT AND PROMISE." 

Haymitch runs inside the room and grabs gale off the ground and looks at me scared. two guards come and grab gale and walk out of the room. 

I look at haymitch. he looks at me and shakes his head. 

"IF YOU WANT TO SEE KATNISS YOU NEED TO BEHAVE YOURSELF! ONE HOUR TO CALM DOWN PEETA AND IF YOU DONT CHANGE, YOU'RE NOT GOING HOME!" Haymitch says angrily. 

Haymitch walks out of the room and slams the door behind him. I turn around and look at Finnick who is smiling. I smile back at him and sit down on my bed. Finnick stands in front of me and looks at me. 

"You are one crazy ass dude when It comes to Katniss."

I smile and nod. Katniss is my life; I will die before I let anything bad come or happen to her. I will save her from her past and mine and start with happiness for our future and that is a promise, always. 

sheesh, Peeta is crazy huh? ahhh I love it!!
