8. Adrien and hunting.

Katniss POV. 

I open my eyes and see the light shining through the window. I turn over and cover my head with the blanket. I peak my head up to look at my clock and read the time, twelve pm. 

My eyes shot open, and I sat up and checked the date on the computer. December 10. I smiled. Today is the day. Peeta finally comes home today. I jump out of bed and rush towards the shower. 

I Finish my shower and check the time again. Twelve -thirty pm. I rush around and get dress and go downstairs and start making coffee. I hear my phone ringing, and I grab my phone from my pocket and answer it. 

"Hello?" I say while sipping my coffee. 

"Goodmorning sweetheart." Haymitch says all loud.

"Oh haymitch, lower your voice, I'm still waking up."

Haymitch laughs. "I figured you would be awake already knowing Peeta is coming home today."

I smile. "Yes, haymitch I know, I still have plenty of time before he gets here."

"Okay, well a few pointers for you before he comes."

"I'm listening."

"Peeta is still on edge, he needs space still, let him come to you today when he gets home. Also, we will be on train around four pm today. Will be home around six. Do not come outside or anything, let Peeta get use to the area before anything. I don't need him having an episode and he gets sent back."

"I hear you haymitch, but what happens if he doesn't want to see me?" I say while frowning. 

I really hope that isn't the case. I have been waiting two weeks to see Peeta again and confess to him how much I love him and I'm sorry for everything I did to him the past year and a half. He didn't deserve anything I did, he didn't deserve the pain from the capitol, it should have been me. Peeta is so innocent and doesn't deserve any damage to his beautiful heart. 

"Oh, trust me sweetheart, you're the only thing on his mind. he will see you at some point tonight, just be patient."

"Okay haymitch, thanks for the heads up."

"I will see you tonight for the daily routine check."

"Bye haymitch."

Haymitch hangs up and I put my phone down and sigh. I looked at clock again. I have a couple of hours to spare before he gets home and even then, I still have to wait. 

I go and sit on the couch and put tv on with the projector in my living room.

I click through channels and see a news update from the capitol. 

'Star crossed lovers be reunited?'

I scoff and skip over the channel. I hear a knock at my front door and turn my head. 

"It's open!"

Marinette walks in and Adrien I'm guessing walks in behind her. I stand up and walk up to the front door. I hug Marinette and turn to Adrien. 

He was handsome I will give Marinette that. He was a tall pale boy with bright golden locks and the brightest shade of emerald, green I have ever seen. 

I hold my hand out and he accepts it. 

"Hi, I'm Katniss, Marinette's best friend, I'm sorry we haven't met till now, I've been busy."

Adrien nods. "Oh, I know, I watched it all, I'm so sorry all of that happened to you, but I am happy to see you back and healthy and with Peeta."

My smile fades and I turn to Marinette.
