Peeta's POV

District 12. What have you become? What has happened. I walk forward and see all the buildings destroyed. The little stores gone; the markets burned to the ground.

I don't know how to feel right now. All I feel is pain. My home is gone. This isn't my home anymore, it's not district 12 anymore, it's just another district burned by the capitol.

I continue to walk forward into the district and look at the ground with all the dead bodies that turned into bones, broken pieces from buildings, ashes and dust build up.

I turn around and look at Haymitch. He looks at me and frowns. I turn back around and look up in the sky. Dark grey. No color, no sign of life, just lifeless.

I feel Haymitch appear next to me.

"Only two things survived within the capitols attacks."

I look at Haymitch with a tear down my face. "What?"

"Your family's bakery and victor's village."

I look away from Haymitch and frown. My home gone; my district gone. What am i going to do now?

"I'm going to let you go, I will be at victor's village when you are ready."

I nod and watch Haymitch walk away.

The bakery survived? How is that even possible.

I began to walk to the bakery. Where bad memories were formed, but also happy ones. The only good memory was one I gave Katniss that bread. The best day of my life. She finally noticed me that day.

I arrived at the bakery and look up at the sign.

'Mellark bakery'. I frown. My family is dead. They can't even be here to help with the bakery anymore. I can't see my father anymore or my brothers. My mother even, even though she beat me. I still love her.

I walk inside the bakery and see everything still in tacked. I walk around and smile. I missed baking. Baking was one of my escapes. I loved baking. It took away all my pain and clears my mind when I was in my head all the time.

I walk in the back of the bakery and see a note lying on the counter. I went up to the note and grab it slowly.

Dear Peeta,

By the time you get this, we will all be gone. We all love you very much. You are an amazing baker and painter and never let go of your dreams. I'm so sorry all the time I hurt you and put you through pain. My strong, brave son. You're going to go far in life and I'm so proud of you. If the bakery is still standing when you return, please keep the Mellark name alive.

Even have a beautiful family (With that Katniss girl preferably) and keep everything alive. Always shine the brightest on the darkness days. You got this son

I'm sorry I couldn't tell you in person, but I will always be watching and so will your brothers and father

I love you son, I'm sorry I showed it too late.

love, mom.

I felt tears streaming down my face. Why. Why me? It's not fair. I miss my family, and I can never tell them again how much I love them again.

I re-read the note over and over again and my eyes fall on to Katniss name.

KATNISS!

I rush out of the bakery and run towards victor's villages. I arrive in victor's village, and I see Haymitch standing outside. I run up to Haymitch.
