"Open up to me, that's all you gotta do. Give me all your heart, I'll swap mine out with you. Come into my world, I'll give my world to you."

Trevon's P.O.V.

I watched her approach an overhead cupboard and reach up to bring a bottle of red wine.

"I hope you don't mind that it's not Rosé. Our butler forgot to include it in our weekly shipping!"

I chuckled along with her little joke, even though it slightly hurt me that she would think of me as some sort of pretentious rich man.

"Rosé is quite overrated, anyway. Surprise me with your tastes, Miss Best."

She raised her eyebrows at me before turning back to her fridge. I watched her bend over slightly as she was searching something that was deep inside the fridge and unreachable. As if it was a reflex, my gaze lowered to her behind which was covered by her trouser suit, which engulfed her petite figure. I shook my head in an attempt to shake away these tempting thoughts and began conversation to distract my mind.

"Do you need any help?"

"Help?" She repeated, with her head still buried in the fridge. "No... No, thank you. I've almost... Got it!"

She hopped out span around so that I could see her massive grin.

"Leftover Chinese, Mr Baxter?" She asked in a playful tone.

"Wonderful, Miss Best." I replied, mirroring her teasing.

She served our plates before warming them both and gestured for me to sit anywhere. Scanning the room, I positioned myself on her plush carpet since I was already doing things out of my norm. Without saying a word, she sat beside me and handed me plate, before commencing to eat.

"Trevon?"

I looked up from my noodles and turned to see Kelly frowning at me. I quickly swallowed the food in my mouth before answering.

"Yes?"

"Well..." She hesitated, picking at the loose threads from the carpet we sat on. "Earlier, in your office, you were telling me about..."

She trailed off, waiting for me to finish.

"Anya?"

"Yes." She breathed out.

"Did you want me to continue?" I asked.

She nodded her head before answering.

"If you don't mind."

I paused to analyse her face as she continued to bite her bottom lip and avert her gaze to focus on everything but me.

"Well, as my new secretary, you may as well be informed about the life of your boss," I sighed, suddenly reluctant to tell my story for a reason I could not fathom.

I placed my finished bowl on the ground and she soon followed suit. Outstretching my legs, I leant back against the sofa.

"Where was I before?"

"She helped you build the business from scratch but it didn't last?" She reminded me.

"Oh yes," I mumbled. "I honestly thought we'd stay together forever; as cliche as it sounds. She had put so much effort for the success of Baxter's, and she would say she's doing it so that we would achieve our dream. But deep down I knew she was doing all that work so she could see my dream come true."

I ran my hand over my face in distress before glancing towards Kelly, whose attention was solely on me.

"Then gradually, things began to change," I began, remembering the worsening of our relationship. "Our communication began to lessen and when we eventually got time to talk, it felt forced and empty, until one day we no longer talked. She would purposefully avoid me. Even now, I wonder what happened to us. Once I, comfortably, reached the CEO stage, I admit, I was neglecting our relationship because I was very busy with work and getting used to all the madness without asking for her help. But then I argue with that because she must've known that as a new CEO, there would be occasions when we wouldn't be able to have time alone. Then it finally happened."
