"I don't know why I waste my time. When you don't care how hard I try to make you smile. But you don't pay me no attention, Stanley. I'm needing your attention, baby. Just show me some appreciation. Or maybe take a bitch to dinner."
Salomé's P.O.V.
Stepping into the office the next morning, my mind was still reflecting on the events of last night. Sighing in relief, as I noticed his absence, I plopped myself down onto my chair, running my hand across my face.
What was I thinking?
You weren't.
My subconscious taunted me, and after much reluctance, I agreed with it. I had one too many drinks, and I reasoned with myself that I could've danced with anyone, and felt the same way I did when I was with him.
Liar.
Suddenly, the door opened, interrupting my thoughts, to which I was grateful for, and I watched my boss enter.
"Good morning sir," I greeted timidly, not wanting to meet his gaze. "I hope you had a good rest last night."
"Miss Best," He replied, authority laced in his voice. "I'm glad you managed to arrive to work on time considering our... situation yesterday."
I frowned a bit, annoyed that not only would he not address what happened yesterday, but that he sounded so normal and unaffected by what we did.
"Well, life goes on." I muttered, keeping it short, as I had nothing left to say. Sensing the tension in the room, he gave me a quick nod before approaching his desk and looking through his files.
I can't say that I was mad, but was he kidding me? Unless he was amazing at hiding his emotions, he just showed me a side to him that was very distant. And that didn't sit to well with me. Not wanting to question him, however, I logged into the computer and began going through the countless work emails I received.
Glancing towards Trevon, I noticed his gaze fixed on his computer, but he seemed to be in a daze. Unsure as to whether I should bring him back from his daydream, I took this moment to sort out my turbulent thoughts and subdue my thudding heart. And check him out.
Internally rolling my eyes at my audacious conscious, I bit the inside of my gums to hide the smirk that threatened to appear on my face. Scanning his face, my eyes rested upon his faded scar that was on his left eyebrow. It looked as if it was an old bruise, and left me intrigued, but I knew I wasn't in the position to intrude. Especially after last night.
My eyes fell to his full lips, which were pulled into a frown. Remembering his lips' gentle contact with my neck, I briefly closed my eyes, feeling the emptiness of his touch just as quick as I felt his light kisses. My groin seemed to have missed him also, as I felt it stir underneath my pants. Whoa, I need to chill-.
Shaking my head to release these thoughts, I returned my attention to the work on my computer. After what seemed like half an hour of tedious answering of emails, a knock sounded into the room. Looking towards Trevon, I waited for his response.
"Yes?" He called out, annoyance laced in his voice.
The door pushed open widely, revealing my 'best friend', who sauntered into the room, swaying her thin hips and pursing her thin lips. At that moment, I wished my life resembled the workers in 'The Office', so that I could have a camera which I would've used to stare unimpressed, whilst she strode in, paying no attention to me.
"Good morning, Mr Baxter," She purred, leaning against the, now, closed door. "I managed to pick up your mail that was lying around for some reason..."
