He was on my tail as I stormed out of that stall, leaving Ryan behind without so much as another word to him. There was nothing good in Kayces eyes as he glared at Ryan before turning to chase after me. His rage alone could've set the whole barn on fire.
"Wren." No warmth behind his tone, none whatsoever as if he had every right to be angry. I ignored him and picked up my pace as I focused on getting to the house as fast as I could. "WREN!" Kayce shouted when I still wouldn't turn around. He can scream all he wants for all I care. The laugh that came out of him wasn't from amusement. No, he was pissed. "Is this your plan, then? To ignore me forever? I'll tell you right now it's not going to work."
I smirked even though he couldn't see it, like hell I wouldn't try my hardest to ignore him. Pretend he doesn't exist. My hand had barely reached the door handle before I was spun around too quickly that I nearly lost my balance. Kayce towered over me as he stepped around me and blocked me from going inside the house. I lost all control as I shoved him with all the strength I had in me. "Fuck you!" I started slamming my palms against his chest but it did nothing. He didn't budge, only grabbed my wrists as I continued to fight against him. "Fuck. you!!"
"Ryan? Seriously?"
"Fuck you." It was all I could say. Kayce held my hands against him as I kept trying to push my way past him, held me close to him until I couldn't move anymore. "Let me go, Kayce. Now." He did no such thing. I dared to look him in his eyes. All the emotions I never dealt with over the years threatened to crash through me but I fought against them as I stared him down and didn't break, held my ground as I laughed in his face. "Who I fuck is none of your business, or did you forget that? Where's your wife, huh? Why the fuck do you think you have any right to stand here and question me about who I'm fucking?"
Kayce didn't say anything. He stayed silent all while keeping his eyes on me. I couldn't tell what he was thinking or feeling. "I am not any of your concern, Kayce, and I haven't been for a very long time. So, why don't you be a good boy and get the fuck out of my way and don't ever try to talk to me about who I fuck or anything for that matter." His mouth opened as if he was ready to argue but he stumbled back as the front door swung open.
"God Kayce, you haven't even been home for an hour" Beth cocked her head as she glanced between Kayce and I, "I would love to sit here all night and hear you two bicker about whatever bullshit you have going on now, or who Wren is currently fucking but I can't say that daddy will feel the same way. Let her through, Kayce." She stepped to the side, adjusting her robe so her breast wouldn't slip out. As if we all haven't seen what god has blessed her with. Kayce looked towards his sister as if to tell her to not get involved. I took the opportunity and shoved past him.
"We're not done yet, Wren" he says.
"We were done 10 years ago, Kayce."
"Let her go" I hear Beth whisper. I didn't bother to look back as I rushed up the stairs.

I shoved everything I could into my duffle bag. There is no way in hell I am staying under the same roof as him. Kayce didn't try to come after me and I have Beth to thank for that. The image of him finding me and Ryan kept playing over in my head. A part of me is glad it was Kayce and not my brother who discovered us but the fact that it was Kayce also didn't make the situation any better. Who did Kayce think he was to speak to me the way he did? So what if I wanted to screw one of the wranglers? Although, not very smart on my behalf and if Rip were to find out any of them made a move on me, well...
Once I felt like I packed up all the essentials, I quietly walked out into the hall and down the stairs. Nobody was downstairs, not even John who usually sits in the main living area at this time with a glass of whiskey. I let out a sigh of relief and slip out the front door. I check my surroundings as I walked down the path to the bunkhouse. I couldn't go to Rip's cabin because he would start asking me questions and I didn't want to explain to him how Kayce found me underneath Ryan, so for now I would go to the bunkhouse and figure out what I will do in the meantime. Ryan knew better than to tell anyone or make it obvious so I knew I wouldn't have to worry about him when I got there. I halted right outside the door and prepared myself before stepping inside.
