The General's Daughter

Chapter 23

Normally it takes a week to get to the border of Dromland from the capital, but for Prince Zander and his companions it only took five days. They only stopped when they had no choice, otherwise they kept going. They didn't want to make Nakita wait for them any longer than she had to.

When Jade was close enough to be able to mentally send a message to Nakita, she summoned Fane, her monkey, from her right shoulder. After tearing off a piece of her underclothing she wrote one word on it. It was the word trap. Nakita figured that Prince Zander would be smart enough to know what to do.

Once she handed the piece of cloth to Fane, she sent a mental image of Prince Zander to him and Fane immediately found his way out of where Nakita was being held. It took Fane about a day to find Prince Zander where they were hiding, scoping out the area.

It was Victor who asked Prince Zander when Fane handed him the message, "Isn't that Nakita's monkey Fane?"

"It is. The reason I knew she needed us was because before she left for this mission was because we agreed before she left that if she was in need of help that she would send Jade to me. That is why Jade showed us the way here."

At that moment, Nakita was still trapped, and they had still been trying to torment her from time to time. Nakita was surprised to see that her Teacher was with the guys. Nakita was alone, so she summoned Sage, her fox, and Nyx, her black jaguar, and sent them out so that she would have eyes outside. The other two could keep an eye out for them, protect them. It made her feel better knowing they were watching out for them.

Outside the twins and Prince Zander snatched two soldiers to question them. After they got what information they could get out of them they decided to use their armor and have the twins put it on. They thought that the twins would find it easier to blend in.

While Nakita's teacher, Prince Zander, Victor, Kaiden and Sunda waited for the twins, Jagger and Jedrek followed Fane to where Nakita was. It took a little bit of time to be able to get to her undetected because of other soldiers that were moving about while on duty.

Nakita wasn't shocked to see them since she could see whatever her animals could see whenever she wanted. Nakita smiled at her brothers. "Nice to see you two. Have you guys figured out a plan yet?"

"Not yet. The first step was to figure out where you were first. The others are hiding. We figured that us two and your teacher are less recognizable than those other four," Jedrek walked over to her to check her injuries. "How are you doing? How bad are your injuries? I can tell that they worked you over good."

"It's ok for now. I can hang on. At first, they didn't realize who I was but when they were cutting me with a dagger to get me to talk they accidentally cut my shirt enough that it revealed to them that I am female. That's how they figured out who I am. The one behind this is Prince Rory, Livia Milton and our mother, Prince Rory is the leader of it though. He wants to use me to get to Prince Zander, so whatever plan you come up with make sure he stays safe." Nakita paused for a moment. "If you can't come up with a plan that will work then leave me here. Don't risk him just to free me. If Prince Zander gets captured or hurt, you five will answer to me... Understand?"

Jagger sighed. "Don't worry we understand. The last thing the five of us want is to be at your mercy. Been there done that, not happening again."

"You two hurry back out. Don't get caught. I will be upset if any of you get hurt.... So be safe." The twins agreed to what she said and left quickly and quietly without getting caught.
