I stared at him. His eyes were dark, his smile was evil and he looked like a tiger, ready to pounce. For a moment, I didn’t know what to do. But then, before he could make a move, I lunged forward, pinned him to the ground and bit his neck like a skilled vampire.

“AAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!” Alex let out a high pitched scream. I guess he never thought that I would attack him. His scream was so funny that I bursted out laughing.

“You bit me! You actually bit me! This fucking hurts!!” He pushed me off of him and rubbed his neck. “You are such a savage” He said, feigning shock.

“And the biggest cold blooded murderer in the world screams like a 16 year old with PMS” I continued laughing.

“I did not sound like that!”

“You did!”

“NO!”

Rest of the evening went quickly. I made him hot chocolate and we talked about stuff till the late hours. When I came back from a quick trip to the loo, I saw that Alex had washed our hot chocolate mugs and made himself comfortable in my bed.

“Comfy” He said, looking tired.

“Do you need a blanket?” I smiled at him.

“No, thank you. I am comfortable as it is” He smiled.

“In that case, I’ll retire. I will be on the second room to the left. Call me if you need anything. Good night…” I turned around.

“Neveah…” He called.

“Yes…” I looked at him confused.

“You asked me to call you if I needed something” He said.

“Well, what do you need?” I asked, surprised.

“I need a story” He cracked one of his devilish smiles.

“What?”

“I need you to tell me a bed time story” His smile widened.

“You’re kidding, right!?” I exclaimed.

“Nope” Now he was smiling widely, showing all 32 teeth of his.

“What are you – a 5 year old? Go to sleep!” I smirked.

“Look what you’ve done to me!” He showed me his neck where I bit him. It was red and swollen. “I totally deserve a story” He pouted.

“You deserved that bite” I smiled. He had that puppy dog look on his perfectly chiseled face that disarmed me.

“Fine, I’ll tell you a story” I gave up.

“Great!” He clapped his hands like a three year old and made space on the bed for me.

I made myself comfortable next to Alex. It was a nice feeling. There was something endearing about him. I couldn’t pinpoint what it was exactly. It could’ve been his looks, his silliness, his kindness, his wits or a combination of all of it. All I knew was I liked Alex enough to let him inside my room after midnight. He was comfortable like an old pair of jeans even though this was the second time I saw him in person. Something about him made me feel safe and protected.
