I slowly dragged my tired body into the shower. My skin tingled uncomfortably under the warm water. If it were any other day, I would have never bothered to stand under the stream of prickling water unless I had to wipe out the smell of bile and blood from my body. But, that day was different. I took a deep breath and leaned against the tiled wall. With whatever energy I had left, I shook my head back and forth, trying to snap out of the incessant ringing in my ears. In a flash, I was lying on the floor with water beating down on me from above. My vision blurred. Then everything went black.
