The day went by pretty fast and I was almost getting out of the classroom. I felt happy, Maybe because it was weekend and I wouldn't have to worry about going to school the next day; and of course it was my birthday.

"Alright everyone, I'll see you next week. Have a wonderful weekend..." Mrs Chen said as she gathered her things together while everyone in the class room were busy doing the same.  She walked out of the classroom and immediately, everyone made a crazy dash out into the hallway.

"I need to go get Kent, I'll meet you up at the parking lot" I said to Emma as I grabbed my backpack and head out of the classroom into the crowded hallway.

I began to search for Kent, I headed towards the direction of his locker and I found him walking towards me.

His eyes lit up with joy when he saw me and he quickened his steps to meet up with me.

"Whoa!! Here comes the birthday girl" He said out loud as he pulled me into a tight hug and then kissed me on the forehead right after.

He looked at me to meet my eyes with a broad smile and then held my hand in his. "What do you want to do today?" He asked.

"Not sure. My dad gave me his credit card and told me to get whatever I want..."

"Awesome! You should get yourself a Kent with a little toppings of Harris" He said jokingly, I couldn't help but chuckle.

"Wouldn't that be amazing?" I replied before going ahead to tell him my plans. "We will be going to the park right after getting something to eat at sallis"

"That's nice. I actually made a list of a couple fun things we're doing today, so let's go get lunch with your friend first"

"Really? That's cool..." It was actually so sweet hearing him say that he had made plans for my birthday.

"So what are the things you have on your list?" I asked anxiously. I was really eager to know how the rest of my day was going to be.

"Everything is going to be a surprise" He replied.

"C'mon, tell me" I insisted. I really wanted to know.

"It wouldn't be a surprise if I have to say all the details now. So just keep your fingers crossed"

"Ughh... I hate you." I said, frustrated.

He laughed. "I hate me too"

"Uhh... but we have to make it home for dinner. My mom said to invited you over for dinner"

"Really?" He questioned with excitement.

I nodded. "Yeah. Birthday Dinner is like a tradition thing."

"That's cool. Can't wait."

He took my hand as we began to walk down the hallway, heading to the parking lot. The parking lot was bustling with students rushing home or to after-school activities.

I spotted Emma waving vivaciously from across the parking lot, and I waved back with a grin.

Just as we started walking toward Emma, I felt Kent's hand stiffen in mine. I turned to see what had caught his attention and followed his gaze to a woman standing near a sleek black car.

The woman was tall, with long, golden hair that fell over her shoulders, and she wore a luxurious yet simple outfit that made her looked elegant. There was an air of familiarity about her, something that strained at the hem of my consciousness.

"Kent?" I asked with concern. "Are you okay?"

Kent's face had suddenly gone pale, and his grip on my hand tightened for a moment before he let go. "Mom..." he said, his voice barely above a whisper.
