The next day in school, I was walking out of the class with Kent, our fingers locked together.

It was the last period for the day and I already had plans to go home with Emma. I just needed to go find her.

"Would you like to go to Sallis later in the evening?" Kent asked as he brought my hand up and kissed it right in the hallway. It might seem like nobody was watching because everyone just wanted to go home at that very hour but some people would have noticed anyway. I only wished one person wasn't watching us. Bryce.

After the whole thing with him about the note, I had tried my best not to think too much about him. It only gave me headaches whenever I thought of him. So it was best that I kept him out of my head and just think about the boy that was right beside me.

But then again, whenever what my nana said to me crossed my mind, I could find myself thinking about the devil over and over again.

I smiled as I looked at kent and he gave me a broad smile in return. He looked even cuter when he smiled like that; like he was seeing me for the first time.

We were together after school yesterday, even later at night and it still felt like I hadn't seen him in days. I really did miss him over the weekend.

"Well...I want..." I began to talk but someone interrupted me.

"Hi lovebirds" it was Tia. She was smiling at both I and Kent as she rolled the tip of her hair with her finger. I hoped she wasn't here to make a scene or do even worse.

Besides, she said she had nothing against I and Kent being together. So I wondered what this was all about.

"I'm sorry to intrude" she started. Maybe she was, or may be she wasn't, I just wanted her to get it over with.

"Well I was hoping Kent could help with Maths after school..." she said as she batted her lashes. Was that even necessary? "He used to tutor me and I think only Kent can help me right now. I hope you don't mind Alex"

"We've got plans..." Kent answered without even thinking through. He really didn't like having her around him, it was like Tia was suffocating him despite being in an open place.

"Oh!" Tia said disappointingly in a very low tone and when I looked at her, I felt really bad.

I didn't want her to feel like I was being obsessed with Kent or I was trying to keep Kent away from her like she was a plague.

The fact that she needed him to help her study even made me feel bad for her the more. Kent didn't sound nice to her a bit and the truth was that we had no plans until evening, I was going to Emma's place to study too.

"We've got plans in the evening actually" I said and Kent gave me that 'you-shouldn't-have' kind of look, making me roll my eyes. He should know by now that I couldn't lie. "He can go with you now"

I could see Tia's face suddenly brightened up. She must have really really needed Kent.

"Thanks Alex, I promise to send him over before evening" Tia said with gratitude and I smiled at her. I gave an unwilling Kent a kiss on the cheek and said to him "I'll call you"

"Alright babe" he replied.

"I'll take care of him" Tia said and I suddenly didn't feel good about her saying she'd take care of my boyfriend. She might not mean in an intimate way but it still felt awkward because she was his ex-girlfriend. I gave a nod, followed by a weak smile before I watched Tia pull my boyfriend along with her.
