Alexandra's Pov.
" Come on hurry up and open it." Calum exclaimed clearly excited to see what is in the box. I laugh at him and attempt to open the box but the tape is to stubborn I can't open it. When I'm about to give up Michael moves my hand aside and slices the tape away with a small pocket knife.
" Thanks." I mumble.
" Just open the box already." Luke yelled and I chuckled before tearing the box open.
The contents in the box are covered in bubble wrap but there was something on top of it. It was a letter with my full name written on it. I opened the letter and saw that it was hand written by non other then my mom.
Dear Alexandra,
I love you so much and I am so proud of you and how far you have come. You know I was hesitant at first for you going all the way to Australia for school but now I embrace it. You may ask me why? I'm just proud of you in every possible way. You having your mind set on going nowhere but Australia for school , nothing more and nothing less is truly amazing. Its amazing that you know exactly what you want to do for the rest of your life. You may be stubborn, hard headed, sarcastic , and cocky at times but you are truly an amazing young women that I will always be proud of. Your also sweet, kind, thoughtful, compassionate, hard working and respectful all are which are characteristics that I see in you almost everyday and what makes you such a lovable and likable person. You are one of the most ambitious people I have ever known. When you set your mind on something you always find away to reach that goal. You never fail to impress me. And I love you so much for that. You are everything that I could ask for in a daughter and then some. You may have a dry sense of humor sometimes but you never fail to put a smile on someones face, or make them laugh. You are my pride and joy just like your brother and sisters are. I hope you have the time of you life in Australia and make the most of it. I love you to the moon and back and never forget that. Sending you on your way to Australia was one of the hardest things to do, to let you go and face the world all by yourself. But I know this experience will be one to remember, who knows you may find the love of your life there. If you do don't be afraid embrace it and dive head first into it or you may regret it later, remember its better to have loved and lost than not love at all. I love you so much and I will miss you tons. Please don't forget to call or text home every once and a while. And if you ever need anything or anything happens feel free to call me even if its 1 in the morning here, If you need any of us just call and we'll make time for you. Your brother and sisters and Dad helped me put together this box of things for you. We put in things that will remind you of home and comfort you if needed. We love you so much, AND WE WILL MISS YOU!!!!!!!
Love, Mom.
Reading this brought tears to my eyes and before I could even comprehend everything I was in the middle of a group hug all four boys latched onto me. I smiled and laughed at this gesture and they released me. Ashton and Michael sat on either side of me and Luke and Calum sat on the floor in front of us and the box they had exciting smiles on their faces.
I handed the letter to Michael and he set it on my desk. I pulled the bubble wrap off and threw it at Calum and Luke and they started fighting over it. I chuckled at their childish actions and went back into discovering what was in the box. I wiped the tears that were streaming down my face before proceeding. Once I looked down I gasped and started to cry all over again but these aren't sad tears there happy ones. I picked up the blanket and cuddled it into my chest. The boys looked at me with confused eyes and I cleared my throat before answering.
" This is the blanket my grandma made for me when I was in the hospital when I was younger. I had to have my tonsils removed. So she brought it in right after my surgery and gave it to me. I meant to pack it but apparently I forgot." I said with a soft chuckle before placing the blanket softly behind me.
