Alexandras POV.
Today is the first day to the rest of my life. Today is the day I start college. The first time I've been away from home, and lived by myself. When I requested a dorm I requested a single one so I wouldn't have to but up with a roommate but sadly I was put into a double dorm. But that's just a little bump in the road. I can handle that, hopefully.I'm on my way to the college right now. It's name is the university of Sydney. It's all the way in Australia. I got here yesterday. I moved from all the way from Canada. You may ask why I moved so far away? The reason for that is because I feel like I needed I fresh start. And surprisingly my parents were totally for it. I thought they would be the last ones to be okay with me moving out of the country, but I guess they just wanted me to do what I wanted. I love how supporting my family can be at times. I'm going to miss my parents and siblings so much but I'll be seeing them soon for Christmas break.
I looked out the window of the cab in awe. Sydney is a really beautiful place, it's way prettier then where I lived in Canada. We didn't have so many beaches, and it was no where near as sunny as it was here. And bonus there's no snow here, which I could get used to.
I was brought out of my thoughts when the cab driver said we were here. I thanked and payed the driver before exiting the car. As soon as I was out a boy who looked around my age with a dimpled smile was greeting me with a handshake.
" Hi I'm Ashton." He said while shaking my hand.
" I'm Alexandra but please call me Alex." I said with a small smile.
" Well Alex would you like some help with your bags, it looks like your moving in right?" The boy with the dirty blonde curls I now know as Ashton asked me with a smile.
" That'd be great." I said while throwing a bag over my shoulder and grabbing one to roll behind me. Ashton grabbed my other suitcase and giant teddy bear my little sister got me before I left for the airport.
" Nice bear." Ashton said with a chuckle.
" Shut up. My ten year old sister gave me that before I left the country."I said defending the poor bear that I named boo. Because my little sister insisted that's what I should call it.
" Left country? Where are you from?" Ashton asked as he lead me towards the dorms.
" Canada." I said and he looked at me shocked.
" Why so far away from home?" Ashton asked with a small frown.
" Fresh start." I shrugged and Ashton nodded.
" Yeah everyone could use one every once and a while...any way what's your dorm number?" Ashton asked me a small smirk, this boy never seems to stop smiling.
" 32." I said with a small sigh.
" I know just where that is,I helped your roommate out earlier today." He said leading me down the maze of hallways.
Before I had the chance to ask him anymore questions he stopped suddenly causing me to bump into him and almost fall over. Ashton just giggled and opened the door to my dorm for me. I entered the room and saw what I expected. Two double beds on the opposite of the room, book shelf's and a desk on either side of the room, a closet and a dresser at the end of each bed. And a door leading to a bathroom. The bed on the right farthest from the window had a suitcase on it so I set my stuff on the bed to the left and Ashton place the rest of my stuff beside me.
" Is my roommate nice?" I asked Ashton curiously, because I wanted to know if I was dealing with a bitch or not.
" He's fine known him for years." Ashton said and I nearly chocked on my spit. Did he say he. As in a boy. I'm sharing a dorm with a boy. I didn't have a clue that the dorms were co-ed.
