Chapter 21~ I like this one, why can't you be dating him?

Michael's Pov

I gulped at Derek's question but knew i had to answer him. I wanted to answer him so he would know I'm not some coward. I slightly raised my hand and he narrowed his eyes at me before looking me up and down sighing before sitting on the couch. We all looked at him confused especially Alex.

"Dad?" She asked

"He doesn't seem like a threat I'm all for it." Derek smiled and Alex squealed in excitement. I smiled seeing her so happy about it. I look to see reactions from the rest of her family and they all seem okay with the news, it's just Kyle that seems to be having the most trouble with this news but that is to be expected, with someone as protective as him.

Luke and Calum laughed loudly causing Alex's family to look at them as if they're crazy, which I'm kind of wondering myself right now.

"Derek, Michael wouldn't hurt a fly let alone your daughter. Trust me if he did myself along with Luke and Ashton would have his ass handed to him in no time. Then of course we'd call you and Kyle for your turn." Calum grinned widely and Derek and Kyle smiled happily at his words, but I gulped. Her brother and Dad are pretty intimidating.

"I like this one, why can't you be dating him?" Kyle joked but Alex rolled her eyes at him and smiled.

"Sorry but he doesn't have blue hair, which I love." Alex winked at me and it was now my turn to roll my eyes. She's trying to be a charmer and it is somewhat working.

" Alex baby, why didn't you tell me you and Michael are dating? How long has it been?" Olivia asked her daughter and Alex shrugged her shoulders not really understanding why her Mom was making such a big deal out of it.

" We didn't want to tell you guys because we wanted it to be a surprise, so surprise! Oh and we've been dating a little over a month. We got together a little after Halloween." I answered surprising everyone in the room and getting a wide smile out of Alex.

" That's great Alex! I'm so happy for you!" He older sister Tara smiled as she rubbed her baby bump softly.

"Thanks Tar." Alex grinned coming over to me and wrapping her arms around my waist hugging me. I smiled and wrapped my arms around my Love and kissed her head softly causing small awes to crowd the room.

I looked over and saw that Derek was smiling happily to himself, I guess he's for me dating Alex? Maybe we'll see. He stood up and walked over towards Alex and I.

"I'm glad you're happy Alex, just know if he ever does anything to hurt you, your brother and I will be on the next flight to Australia to beat this pale Aussies ass." Derek smiled causing all of us to laugh and nod our heads in understanding.

"Don't worry Sir, the last thing I would do is hurt your daughter. I'll do whatever it takes to make her happy." I smiled and Alex blushed and hid her face in my neck.

"I approve." Olivia smiled getting teary eyed.

"Awe my baby sister has her first real boyfriend!" Tara grinned and Alex shot her a playful glare.

"Shush I think Carter would take offense to that." Kyle laughed and I raised my eyebrow with a smirk as Alex pulled away from my arms with a flushed face.

"Whos Carter?" Luke asked as him and Calum sat down on the couch on either side of Tara.

"Carter was the boy who grew up next door, him and Alex were bestfriends up until she left for Australia." Tara explained and we all nodded in understanding. I wonder if he still lives next door? Maybe he'll make an appearance here before we leave, I wouldn't mind meeting Alex's childhood bestfriend.

"Carter was her first kiss when they were like twelve, we always thought that they would end up together." Kyle shrugged and Alex rolled her eyes.

" Can we not talk about Carter?" Alex huffed and her family all collectively laughed causing the boys and I, now including Ashton to furrow there eyebrows.

"Are you two still in a fight?" Daisy laughed and Alex looked pissed off at the question.

"Yes! He basically called me dumb for going to Australia for school! And said all I'll get from that is a knuckle head surfer who hits on me! And by the way I know my fair share of Australian's and I only know one who surfs and he sucks at it! Luke falls every time!" Alex yelled obviously frustrated and stormed out of the room. Everyone looked at where she was wide eyed and I sighed, I need to go talk to her.

"Where's her room?" I asked.

"Last door upstairs on your right." Olivia smiled and I smiled back before heading to the stairs and quickly running down the hallway to find her room.

It was right where her Mom said it would be and I smiled as I saw the sign on the door that said 'No boys beyond this point', her door was still slightly open so I decided to creep into her room. I saw her pacing around the room with dark purple carpet. Her room was filled with photographs, most of the of her and her family along with a few with a boy that I assume is Carter.

"Babe." I called and she snapped her head towards me and stopped her pacing. She looked relieved that it was only me and not one of her family members. I sat down on the edge of her bed and patted the spot next to me, she sat next to me and rested her head on my shoulder.

"Carter and I were bestfriends up until I told him I was leaving for Australia, then he was just insulting by saying stuff like it will ruin my life if I go there. Things would be fine if he would have supported me but no he didn't and he hasn't even tried to contact me since I left. I just don't like how things ended." She explained and I nodded my head in understanding. I took her hand in mine and intertwined our fingers together.

"We're here now Love, if we see him you can try and work somethings out. You can show him that Australia's been good to you. Obviously it has because you're stuck with me." I grinned and she smiled and kissed my cheek.

"And I couldn't be happier that I'm stuck with your stupid face." She winked and I smiled widely at her and kissed the top of her head.

"Thanks Babe." I smiled glad that she was feeling a little better. She's home for the first time in a few months obviously it was going to be a little stressful but the boys and I are here to make things smoother well to try to at least.
