Joined another side?

After we reached to his home, he offered me to sit comfortably and gave me water. I was uncomfortable about this whole situation.
He sit parallel to me and told his guards to keep an eye out. It was just me and him.
He seems changed.
"So.. i hope you're feeling alright now?"
I reassure him.
"Yes, I am thank you."
He smiles softly.
"So Eliose, you must be honest with me to make this work out. What happened, tell me from start?"
I hesitate.
"We- I mean I reached his home, he told me to stay out of his way and he'll stay out of mine. He didn't put any restrictions until-

"Until what?"
He takes a sigh.

"Until, some guy named Richard threatened me to get some money from Nick otherwise my life would be in danger, so i tried going through Nick stuff and found some papers about his identity. I asked him but he didn't tell me at start...

I pause.

"But somehow i gathered some of the money and gave it to Michael."

"So how did you truly found out that Scarlet isnt his real name."

"I mean... all of this over money?"

He forwards his hand in air.

"You were technically running from his men. over what? money? Tch tch.. doesn't make sense."

I look at him.
Ofcourse i wouldn't tell him everything. I made promises to Nick that i would never enclose the personal information of his identity to anyone, because it would put me and him into danger. But- he's the one who was gonna kill me.
He sent Fabio to kill me.

Why should i protect him. Does he think i am lying?

He doesn't force me.

"Don't pressurize yourself, okay? You're safe. Whatever plans he had, ill ruin them all. He tried to kill you. He'll pay for it."

I stutter.

"How did you know he was gonna kill me?"
He looks at me, his facial expressions affirmed.

"Silly, i told you. I had my spy on you the whole time."
He pinches my nose softly.
I smile not too wide.

"Michael , did you by some chance knew about Nick real identity?"

"If i knew, would i send you there? Dont overthink it too much, go freshen up and take good rest."

I walk to the room , he gave me. The room was nice. Had a comfy bed and wardrobe with an air conditioner.
I changed my clothes and went directly to bed.

So much chaos today.

Would he really be worried about me?  What if i put him in danger.
I snap out of it.
Eliose Casey, get this fantasy out of your head. He doesn't care for you. He left you there. To die. I couldn't get these words in the mind. Nor the heart.
I just turn off the lamp and sleep. somehow.

"Where is Eliose?"  I shout.

"I gave you one task, ONE TASK. to open the lodge door, get her out and make her return home safely."

I take a deep breath.
I point at him.

"You couldn't even complete one task. She ran away from you and you couldn't even catch her. Coward."
I grab him by the collar.

"If she's not found in the next 24hrs... you're gonna face consequences."

"Do you understand?" He doesn't respond.

I grab him more tightly this time.
"Do. You. Understand?"

"Yes, sir." He finally responds.

"That's what i thought. Now go get me the information where she was last at, where she stayed, who she talked too, and who she escaped with. Don't leave out a signal information, understand?"

Dante entered the room.
"Sir, i checked the security footage. She booked the motel for a night after she escaped from the lodge."

I stop him.

"Did you let her out the lodge?"

"That was what i am telling you from start but you weren't listening. I was going to open the door for her , but Michael's men Marco. He was the traitor. He wanted to kill her. I was trying to protect her but she got the wrong idea that Nick sent me to kill you."

Dante adds.
"And sir...you might wanna see this."
He forwards the tab to let me see the camera footage.

"This..is his car. You know this guy sir?"

"Michael." Anger crawled over me.
"What?" dante says.
"How can he be here. He was supposed to be in England."

"Eliose is his prey and the wolf will hunt his prey to claim what's his."

"So that means he'll use her? god we can't let that happen, Nick."

I don't say anything.

"That asshole.. how could he think to use her sister?"

"We can't act rational this time, we need to come up with plan so we can take Eliose back without getting her hurt." I finally reply.

"He had a spy among us the whole time huh? let's reverse his dirty tricks on him. Fabio, track the vehicles number and get every information where this car went, after that put your men after him and no one should get noticed off. should work off as death."

"And no mistakes this time, if something happens to her i would kill you myself." I warn them.
They nod.

They left the room. I tried to call Eliose. Her phone was ringing but she wasn't picking up. I tried again and she picked.

"Hey Eliose, thank god you picked. Are you okay? You need to listen to me real carefully. I did not send Fabio to kill you. It was your brother. It was your brother who sent his men to kill you. He had put a spy in between us so he could be aware of any step we take. Please believe me on this one . And where are you? tell me ill come pick you up right away."

"Eliose? Hello?"

"Bravo, Nick..Bravo."
Fuck, he has her phone.

"You really think i would let you get to her so easily? She's part of it now. Wont be able to escape it. She's gonna be so against you now. You wouldn't be able to contact her so i guess we'll meet soon? with deals? He laughs ill be intrigued."

I fastly hack the phone line and track the address and put him on speaker.

"You better not hurt her Michael, she got nothing to do with this. If any hair of her is hurt, ill come and slit your throat and give you so slow and painful death . And my face will be the last thing you remember."

I cut the phone after that.
