Chapter 12: Payback

You were going to get your captain status back. You were going to fight relentlessly for it. You just had to pay a visit to an old friend-Cobra Kai.

"I'll take y/n to our senseis, Tory." Kwon insisted with his newfound venomous smirk. Kwon began heading out of the hotel instantly, expecting you to follow.
"Thank you for waiting for me, Kwon." You muttered sarcastically to yourself.

As Kwon began leading you to the Cobra Kai's training ground, your heart began to pulsate in your chest. You had trained with Cobra Kai before, but as soon as you found out Silver had paid the referee in the All Valley, you decided to quit.

However, you would be lying if you didn't admit that Cobra Kai transformed you into a cold-blooded and ruthless fighter, and you missed this. You missed feeling superior over your opponents, powerful, the rage you embodied. But you also missed the sense of feeling part of a team. There, you were valued as a teammate and made unforgettable friendships. Now, in Miyagi Do, your team had isolated you, quarrelled with you throughout the tournament, and now had put your captain title at risk. You were going to make them regret it. They all would.

Kwon, realising you zoned out, waved his hand in front of your face, interrupting your train of frenzied thoughts. "Y/n, are you still alive? We are here." Kwon confirmed.

Tentative, you took a heavy, prolonged breath. You did not know if the Cobra Kai senseis would even talk to you, let alone want you to captain their team for the one match. It was a risk coming here. But you were prepared to take it. Kwon, who had analysed your unsettledness, faintly brushed his hand past yours, causing your fingers to briefly interlock. "You getting second thoughts?" Kwon observed.

A minor huff escaped your lips. "No, it's just the history I have with this dojo."

A smirk blossomed on Kwon's face. "You have nothing to worry about, y/n; you have landed a point on all of my team. Well, on everyone apart from me." He remarked.

You let out a sarcastic groan and blurted tauntingly. "Not yet anyway."

Kwon raised his eyebrows in astonishment, arrogantly chuckling. "You want to bet that, y/n?"

"I don't need to bet, I know." You assured, boldly.

A smirk was stapled on Kwon's lips as he continued mockingly. "As much as I would enjoy proving you wrong, you have my senseis to see. If you are that scared, I could walk you inside and hold your hand."

"Shut up." You retorted, following Kwon up the stairs. The conspicuous Cobra caught your eye, plastered to the wall inside the training ground. However, preventing you from going any further up, a voice upwards stopped you in your tracks.

"Y/n, we were expecting you; you can enter. Alone." Kreese menacingly declared.

You locked eyes with Kwon, who nodded his head encouragingly. "See you soon, y/n. Do not forget to tell me the good news." He affirmed with a slight smirk before leaving you alone with Kreese. You concurrently trailed after Kreese as he entered the training area. Inside, Kim stood assertively, studying you intensively, as Kreese took his place beside Sensei Kim.

"We have heard about this little, new competition between your team for the female captain. What makes you think you could lead our team without a fight first?" Kim snarled.

"I have no issue with that; I'll fight anyone, including your best." You announced boldly.

A smirk stitched onto Kreese's face.

Kreese had trained you when you were briefly at Cobra Kai. He taught you to strike first and unleashed the demon of fury inside of you. He knew, under his teachings, you could become an inhumane, callous weapon that he could manipulate. But, even if Kreese convinced Kim to take you in, it was only for one match, and then, you would return to their enemy-Miyagi Do.
