Chapter 9: The Fight

You just had to beat Kwon.

It was 5 minutes before the tournament commenced, but most importantly, it was the round that would send either you or Kwon home. Giving your Captain headband a firm tug in place, you locked eyes with Kwon. But he was already looking at you with his usual smirk. Sighing, you rolled your eyes at him irritatedly.

Demetri noticed your eyes wandering and enquired bluntly. "Y/n, are you there? It is not the best time to become AWOL before the round starts, you know, the round that could send us home."
Before you could reply, Sam chirped in. "Demetri, I would not bother with her; she's been too busy with Kwon anyway." Sam spat accusingly.

Your face contorted with pure rage and formed a hostile expression. "What did you just say?" You challenged. How dare Sam try and provoke you before the major match? Especially since you saw her looking very close with a boy from the opposing team, Axel, a few nights ago. Almost too close.

"I don't know why you are still captain, y/n. You're not loyal to this team; you should be in Cobra Kai." Sam threateningly snarled in response.
A furious chuckle left your lips as you tilted your head in pure outrage. A small argument was one thing, but for her to say you were not worthy of your captain status? Or worthy of being in Miyagi Do? You would show her. You would show them all.

"You think you're the best we have got, Sam? Please! You have barely landed a point on someone this entire tournament. I've also seen the way Axel looks at you; have you told Miguel that?" You retorted.

Sam did not reply; instead, she was fixed in her accusing glare.

A heavy scoff left your lips. "Of course not; I do not know why I even asked. The difference is that a true captain would take responsibility for their actions. So yeah, me and Kwon, believe whatever you want. Good luck on the mat." You sneered, giving her a harsh shove as you strode away from her arrogantly.

Interrupting the hostility that now formed between your team, the announcer interrupted: "It's time for the final match of the tag round: Cobra Kai vs. Miyagi Do. The first team to three points wins; the other team will be eliminated. Ready?"

Robby assertively strode onto the mat, along with Tory from the Cobra Kai team. Kwon, who had prepared himself to fight first, was taken aback by this, giving Tory a perplexed glare.

Robby enquired: "Tory, what are you doing?"
Tory snarled, shaking her head aggressively, "Don't think we are all unaware of what you did to y/n when you were supposedly meant to be together. You cheated on her with Zara."

Robby gave you a remorseful, bewildered look.
"Begin!" the announcer interrupted. The fight had commenced.

Not in the right mindset to fight, Robby swiftly tagged in Sam and stood next to you.

"Come on, y/n, how are you still mad at me?" Robby accusingly spat.
You scoffed in disbelief. "Robby, I am not mad at you anymore. I know we did not put any labels on our relationship, but we were still together. Everyone knew that. I did not tell you to ruin that by hooking up with an enemy." You spat with pure venom.
"So, is it okay for you to hook up with the opposing team first, y/n?" Robby snarled.

Your brows simultaneously rose as you let out a heavy exhale. You had hooked up with Kwon multiple times. But that was after Robby decided to end the relationship by kissing Zara. You were not in a relationship with Robby when you kissed Kwon. You did not and would not ever cheat.

A scoff left your lips in fury. "What are you talking about, Robby? I hooked up with Kwon after you cheated on me. Don't you dare accuse me of cheating, Robby. Stay out of Kwon's and my relationship." You retorted, outrage almost burning out of your skin. The rage was what you needed just before a fight. It fuelled your determination to win even more.
