Hoseok and Jungkook stood in the dining room, their presence drawing Jimin and Yoongi's attention. Yoongi’s chopsticks froze midair, his expression one of stunned disbelief as his eyes landed on Jungkook.
"Jungkook," Yoongi said, his voice low, almost disbelieving.
Jungkook smiled, but it was strained, his eyes sharp and unreadable. "Looks like you’re not in any rush to come back home," he said, crossing his arms. "I told you to find a place to stay for three days, Yoongi, not to disappear for almost a month."
Yoongi rolled his eyes, leaning back in his chair. "Three days or thirty, what difference does it make?" he muttered.
Jimin quickly stood up, his chair scraping against the floor as he approached Jungkook. His smile was warm but tentative. "Jungkook, I thought you said you’d be coming tomorrow?"
Jungkook’s smile softened, though the tension in his posture remained. "I decided to come today instead. Thought it’d be a nice surprise."
Hoseok, feeling the weight of the unspoken tension, spoke up hesitantly. "What… what are you talking about?"
Jungkook turned to him, his gaze assessing. "I contacted Jimin a few days ago to let him know I’d be visiting," he explained, his voice cool and composed. "After all, I had to see my husband."
Hoseok swallowed hard, nodding slowly. The way Jungkook said "my husband" sent an uncomfortable pang through his chest. He couldn’t quite meet Jungkook’s piercing gaze, so he looked away, focusing on a spot on the floor.
Jungkook let out a faint hum, his lips curving into an almost amused smirk as he eyed Hoseok. Then, he turned to Yoongi and walked toward him with a measured grace, placing a stack of papers on the table beside him.
"I want a divorce," Jungkook announced, his tone calm yet cutting.
Hoseok’s jaw dropped. He didn’t know why, but relief flooded through him, though he fought to keep it from showing on his face.
Yoongi scoffed, leaning forward to glance at the papers. "Gladly," he said, the corner of his mouth twitching in amusement.
Jungkook rolled his eyes dramatically, placing a hand on his hip. "Let me save you the judgmental look, Yoongi. I know I didn’t want to give you a child, but I’m a model. I work for a globally renowned brand. Ruining my perfect body was never an option." He paused, his voice dropping with a note of finality. "Besides, I’ve found someone else."
The air in the room grew heavier as Jimin and Hoseok exchanged wide-eyed glances, both unsure of how to respond.
"Wow," Yoongi said dryly, leaning back in his chair. "Congratulations on that achievement."
"Thank you," Jungkook replied with a haughty smile, flipping his hair over his shoulder. "I hope you find someone who’s ready to give you what you want."
Yoongi’s gaze flickered toward Hoseok, his smirk returning. "Oh, I will," he said smoothly.
Hoseok’s eyes widened, his breath catching in his throat. Jungkook’s sharp gaze didn’t miss the brief interaction. He raised a perfectly arched eyebrow, his smirk growing more pointed.
Jimin, however, seemed completely unfazed. His unwavering trust in Hoseok blinded him to the subtle tension in the room. He simply returned to his seat, quietly observing the scene unfold.
Yoongi shifted his attention back to Jungkook, picking up the papers. "So you’ve already signed these?" he asked, pulling the pen tucked into the stack.
"Of course," Jungkook said with a shrug, his tone light but laced with impatience.
"Good choice," Yoongi muttered, signing the papers with swift, deliberate strokes. He slid them back toward Jungkook, who snatched them up with a satisfied smirk.
Jungkook leaned down, placing a quick, almost mocking kiss on Yoongi’s cheek. "Thanks," he said sweetly before straightening. He turned to Jimin and Hoseok, waving casually. "It was nice seeing you both."
As he passed Hoseok, Jungkook slowed his stride, leaning in just enough to whisper, "Be careful."
Hoseok froze, his heart hammering in his chest. Before he could process Jungkook’s cryptic warning, the man pressed a light kiss to Hoseok’s cheek, straightened, and walked to the door. With a final glance back, Jungkook opened it and disappeared, closing it firmly behind him.
The room was silent for a long moment.
Jimin sighed, breaking the tension. "Well, Jungkook is a piece of work," he muttered, shaking his head before resuming his meal as if nothing had happened.
Hoseok stood rooted in place, his thoughts spinning wildly. Jungkook’s words echoed in his mind, and he couldn’t shake the feeling that the man had seen more than he let on.
Yoongi, however, seemed unfazed. He turned his attention to Hoseok, his lips quirking into a sly smile. He mouthed the words, "You and me, tonight. My bedroom."
Hoseok’s breath hitched as Yoongi winked at him, the promise in his gaze unmistakable. Yoongi turned back to his food, his expression calm and composed as if nothing had happened.
Hoseok bit his lip, trying to keep fear—and anticipation—from consuming him.
