A DENSE SILENCE SETTLED OVER THE SCENE, broken only by the agonized cries of those gripped by the dark energy.

Aizawa Shota surveyed the twisted landscape before him, his normally impassive gaze clouded with a rare, chilling uncertainty.

Shadows crawled over the broken earth, taking on forms that seemed to mock the contours of human nightmares.

"What… what is this?" All Might whispered, his voice quivering in his weakened form, hands trembling as he took in the devastation.

His usual indomitable spirit seemed utterly dwarfed by the horror that hung over them. "How… can we even fight this?"

Endeavor, who usually stood like a burning beacon of power and strength, was frozen, his flames flickering as though they, too, feared the dark presence.

He clenched his fists as his eyes darted to the medics rushing past.

His flames, once a symbol of blazing might, seemed pathetic against the endless void that lay ahead.

Beside him, Shota's hand unconsciously found its way to his capture weapon, as if to reassure himself that he still had some measure of control.

But he knew, deep down, that even his quirk couldn't stop this. This wasn't an opponent you could look in the eye and erase.

"This is beyond quirks," Aizawa thought, a bead of sweat tracing a path down his temple.

His gut twisted as he watched a young girl clawing at her face, eyes wide and filled with a terror that made his skin crawl. "I… I don't know if we're equipped for this kind of darkness.

If they're already broken without a single punch thrown, then how do we even begin?"

A sob broke through the cries, ragged and raw, as a man collapsed, clutching his chest.

His mouth opened in a silent scream, as if he’d seen the very gates of hell.

"I… I can't… make it stop!" he gasped, voice shredded and frantic.

His fingers scraped against the ground, desperate to dig himself away from an invisible enemy.

"Get him some air!" a medic shouted, her face pale and streaked with sweat, though she herself looked on the verge of fainting. "Everyone, please, stay back!"

"What now?"  Endeavor's voice was barely a murmur, his tone stripped of his usual bravado.

He glanced at Aizawa, a fleeting look of fear crossing his face. "Eraser, do you feel it too? This… cold?"

Aizawa nodded grimly, gripping the edge of his scarf so tightly his knuckles whitened.

"It's in the air. It's like… it's like this darkness is alive, like it's feeding on them. Draining them." He looked out at the crowd, his jaw tightening.
