They say that love between the same is wrong,
A sin, a flaw, a broken song.
They quote the Bible, verses strong,
But where is love when hate belongs? For love thy neighbor is what it said,
To lift each other, not to dread.
Yet why, they ask, when love is pure,
Is it condemned and made impure? If loving you is a sin, then so be it,
I'll wear this sin, I won't quit.
For love is truth, it's kind, it's real,
It's more than words, it's what we feel. It's not confined to rules of man,
It's the beating heart, it's where we stand.
And if my love is wrong to some,
I'd rather be wrong than cold and numb. The Bible speaks of love, of grace,
Of compassion, kindness, in every place.
Yet when does love turn into hate?
Why judge a heart that won't abate?Love is love, no matter the name,
It's not a crime, not a shame.
If love is a sin, then let me fall,
For loving you is worth it all.So if they say love's a sin, I'll smile,
For I'll love you each and every mile.
I'd rather live true, than fake and bound,
In love's embrace, where we are found. For in the end, it's love that stays,
Beyond the rules, beyond the praise.
If loving you makes me a sinner, then so be it,
For in this love, I find my spirit.
