"Blood is thicker than water," they say,
But when does that truth start to decay?
Is family meant to bring such pain,
To leave a heart in endless strain?
Where is the love in scars they leave,
The betrayal that I can hardly believe?
If blood is thicker, why do I drown,
In tears they caused, a love torn down?Does family hurt, does family betray,
Does family take the light away?
Does family trade a child for gold,
Breaking their spirit, leaving them cold?
Does family seize control through shame,
Calling abuse by another name?
If this is blood, then let it dry,
For love like that is built on a lie.I'd gladly sever the ties that bind,
To heal the wounds they left behind.
To rise above the pain, the past,
And find a peace that will truly last.
For family is more than a shared vein,
It's the bond that withstands the strain.
A chosen love, a sacred space,
Where trust and care have found their place. So let the blood fade into the ground,
I'll seek a love that's real and profound.
For family is not what they demand,
But the ones who hold your trembling hand.
Blood may be thick, but water is pure,
And healing flows when love is sure.
To lose that family is to be free,
To reclaim the person they stole from me.
