"Stand up straight why don't you, Vivian?" A man said, casting a glance at his youngest daughter whilst his wife buttoned up her coat. Around the small family, crowds of wizards, witches, and muggles alike rushed to say goodbye to their children. Sending them off on the bright scarlet train. It was September 1st, the busiest day for platforms 9 and ¾. The day when everyone starts their first day at Hogwarts.
The older boy standing next to them, gave his little sister a pat on the back as she stood up straighter. "Yunseo, take care of your sister, will you? Make sure she does good," Their mother spoke, kissing her daughter on the forehead.
Her young daughter huffed, "Mum, I don't need Yunseo to look—"
"Nonsense," Their father snapped. "Yujin, you must realize the role you carry in this family no?" His voice lowered while using her real name. "Stick with your brother and you will tarnish nothing," He said, letting out a small breath. Almost as if reassuring himself.
"Dad, she's eleven, what could she possibly do?" Yunseo questioned, raising his eyebrow. "I'm sure Yujin will do perfectly."
"I have some ideas of what she could do. For instance, hang around those mud—"
"Quiet down. We don't need to cause a scene at the station," Yujin's mother hissed. "Yunseo, take care of your sister. And Yujin remember," Yujin watched as her mother knelt to her level. Placing a hand on her shoulder. "Our family has always been one in the public eye. Everyone will know your name. Whether it is Vivian or Yujin. You are a Mae. Understood?" She asked, squeezing her daughter's shoulder a little too tightly.
Yujin gave her mother a big smile, "I'll make you and Dad proud, I promise," She spoke, not seeing the sad frown on her brother's face.
Their father patted her head, and the gesture seemed almost loving, "You will make us proud if you are put in Slytherin. Not one person in our whole family has ever been anything else. Do not be the first," He reminded her, causing the smile on Yujin's face to quickly fade.
"Yes, Dad," She said quietly, fidgeting with the hem of her coat.
Yunseo put a hand on his sister's back, "Come on, Viv, let's go to the train, shall we?" He asked with a strained smile. Yujin gave a small nod. She stepped towards her parents to hug them goodbye before she thought better of it. The young girl merely gave her parents a small wave before following her brother onto the train.
Just a couple feet away, was another family of four. A young boy who was smiling ear to ear seeing the train, "Can we go now?" He asked, tugging at his older brother's sleeve.
"Heeseung, at least say goodbye to our parents first," His brother laughed, taking his owl's cage in one hand. "Hogwarts isn't going anywhere."
"Ah, he's just excited," Their mother excused, hugging her oldest.
"Let us know what house you get, alright?" Their father asked, bringing Heeseung into a bone-shattering hug.
His older brother snorted, a small smirk on his face, "Maybe don't if you get into Slytherin."
"Slytherin or Hufflepuff, we don't care," Heeseung laughed as their mother hit her son on the back of the head. "You should take care not to talk rubbish to your younger brother, Junho."
"It's not a lie," Junho exasperated. "Those Slytherin kids are mental, I tell you."
Heeseung shrugged, "I don't really care what house I get into. Though, I suppose Gryffindor would be..." He looked at his older brother, the scarlet and gold scarf around his neck from last year, "... fine," He said jokingly, earning a gasp from Junho.
