In Demon Quelling Palace

Lan Yibo woke up with pain all over his body. He opened his eyes and slowly adjust his eyesight. Then he sat up and looked around the room. He was confused as he didn't understand why he was feeling pain all over his body. Then he remembered what happened between him and Wei Zhan last night.

"You wake up." Wen Qing said as she entered Yibo's bedchamber and Yibo turned to her.

"Are you feeling uncomfortable anywhere?" Wen Qing asked as she approached Yibo.

"I am feeling pain all over my body." Yibo said and Wen Qing frowned.

"It shouldn't happen." Wen Qing said in a low voice but Yibo heard her.

"What happened to me?" Yibo asked as he was confused.

"After Zhan marked you, your body couldn't handle it. So, you became unconscious and had a high fever." Wen Qing said and started to check Yibo.

"Your fever is gone and the mark healed overnight." Wen Qing said after she checked Yibo up.

"Where is Zhan ge?" Yibo asked while staring at the door.

"He is in the punishment hall." Wen Qing said and Yibo frowned.

"Why?" Yibo asked and Wen Qing rolled her eyes.

"What do you think why? After Sean forcefully mark you, your Lan Sect will leave him?" Wen Qing asked while raising her eyebrow.

"No, no. They won't leave Zhan ge. They will punish Zhan ge." Yibo said and started to panic.

"I have to stop them I have to stop them." Yibo said and started to get up from the bed.

"What are you doing? Isn't your body in pain?" Wen Qing asked while crossing her hands on her chest.

"It doesn't matter." Yibo said as he wore his robes and rushed out of his bedchamber.

Wen Qing just saw Yibo's action but didn't stopped Yibo. To be honest, Wen Qing didn't want Zhan to get heavy punishment. She knew that what Zhan did was wrong but after Lan Wangji told him the reason of Zhan's action, she didn't want Zhan to get any heavy punishment. But the Lan Sect wouldn't give Zhan any light punishment. If anyone could stop Zhan's punishment then it was Yibo. Only Yibo would be able to save Zhan from punishment and no one else.

In the punishment hall

Everyone gathered in the punishment hall. Zhan was kneeling down in the center of the hall and was waiting for his punishment.

"We all know what Wei Sean did so according to the Lan Sect rules, I punish....." Lan Qiren couldn't finish his words as Wei Wuxian interrupted him.

"It's not the Gusu Lan Sect, Grandmaster Lan nor Wei Sean is the member of Lan Sect. It's the Yiling Wei Sect and Wei Sean is the second heir of Wei Sect. As a sect leader and the chief cultivator, I should be the one to give Wei Sean punishment according to the Wei Sect's rules." Wei Wuxian said.

"But Lan Yibo is the second heir of the Lan Sect and Wei Sean forcefully marked him. So, it should be the Lan Sect to punish Wei Sean." Jin Guanyao said.

"Don't forget that Lan Yibo is now betrothed to Wei Sean." Lan Wangji said coldly and Jin Guanyao was about to argue but Lan Xichen stopped him.

"Let the Wei Sect punish their heir." Lan Xichen said and Jin Guanyao snorted.
