Chapter - 05

In Cloud Recesses

Lan Yibo woke up half past 5 a.m. and when on the bed. He remembered about last night's incident and his eyes became teary. He hugged his knees and buried his head between them. Then he started crying silently.

Lan Wangji was medicating on the floor while closing his eyes. He sensed Yibo's movement and opened his eyes.  He turned around and sighed seeing Yibo's condition. He got up from the floor and approached Yibo. He sat beside Yibo and side hugged him.

Yibo became startled with the sudden hug. He opened his eyes and turned his head to the side. He was surprised to see Lan Wangji.

"Shhh.... Don't cry. Everything will be fine." Lan Wangji said softly and wiped Yibo's tears.

"When did you come, Mama?" Yibo asked. He used to call Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji as Baba and Mama in private as they took him as their own son.

"I come last night." Lan Wangji said and Yibo was surprised.

"I am sorry I invaded your privacy." Lan Wangji said and Yibo shook his head.

"It's okay. You don't have to say sorry. I should be the one to say sorry. I hurt Zhan ge. I hurt your elder son." Yibo said and tears started to roll down from his eyes.

"Well, you really hurt A-Zhan. But I am not mad at you. I understand why you did that." Lan Wangji said sincerely.

Lan Wangji could understand Yibo's insecurities. He could understand Yibo's fears. Once he faced that. He couldn't chase Wei Wuxian just because he was afraid of his secondary gender. Both of him and Wei Wuxian were alphas and Wei Wuxian used to openly flirt with omegas. Seeing that, Lan Wangji couldn't bring himself to confess his feelings. He could see how Wei Wuxian's eyes lit up around Wei Sizhui, around other children. He could never gave Wei Wuxian any children. So, he stepped back and remained as Wei Wuxian's friend. But everything changed after he was cursed. After he was cursed, he decided to take a risk and confessed his feelings. Well, he was drunk at that time but he could lie when he was sobar but he didn't. He again confessed to Wei Wuxian and now they were living happily with their children. So, only Lan Wangji could understand why Yibo was behaving like that. Why did a random omega's words affect him so much.

"Whatever happened happens. Don't think about it. If you don't want to continue your relationship with Zhan then don't. No one will blame you. Zhan also won't blame you." Lan Wangji said and Yibo started to sob loudly.

"But...but... I hurt Zhan ge." Yibo said while sobbing.

"You are also hurting, aren't you?" Lan Wangji asked and Yibo kept silent.

Lan Wangji didn't say anything further. He quietly started to rock Yibo on his arm and slowly Yibo calmed down.

"Lusi told me everything." Lan Wangji said and Yibo looked up at him.

"Do you want to say from your point of view?" Lan Wangji asked while staring at Yibo's eyes. Yibo bite his lower lip before nodding his head. Then he explained everything from the conversation he overhead in Lanshi to the conversation in the he heard in the garden.

Lan Wangji listen everything patiently. He was angry with his family's actions. He didn't know why Lan Sect didn't prioritize human emotions. After this incident, he decided to take the matter on his hand. He couldn't let it slide away as it the matter of his sons happiness.
