The screams and chatter all overlapped as my cousins greeted me, my feet faltering at the weight and my back colliding with Gabriel's chest, who had moved to stand behind me.

His hands wrapped around my waist, stabling me as all the words came at me at once.

"I haven't seen you in so long!"

"When did you get here?"

"Ew you smell couz,"

"Your hairs grown so much!"

All the chatter went to silence as I was processing which question to answer first.

"Ooh hello handsome, you must be k-,"

"Gabriel!" I corrected, taking a step to the side so I could introduce him.

"Hi Gabriel, I'm Louisa."

One by one they introduced each selves and I noticed the few off expressions I got in my way. One saying where is Kyle, this is not Kyle, one saying ooh if you don't work out, I'll take him, well, sort of but Louisa normally was the flirt so it sounded like an accurate thought when she looked at me with those wide doe like eyes.

"Where is my sister?" I asked, turning around to look into the glass panels. I could see her in the distance mingling with what looked like the grooms family.

"So Gabriel, how did you both meet?" asked Gemma.

"At work."

"Oh, do you work with Rory?"

Before I could internet, Gabriel had already said:

"Yes, I'm her boss actually."

I cringed.

Gemma looked at me, her eyes wide, "not the boss that you called was an incor-,"

"No...NOT HIM!!" I laughed, "This is my NEW boss."

I could feel Gabriel's eyes on me, but even more I could feel the grip he had on my waist tightened. I had thought when I moved his hands had dropped off, but only his left palm had, and now I felt the warmth of his right palm slightly grip my waist a little bit tighter.

Why was he still touching me?

I looked up at him raising my eyebrows, does he not realise his arm is still around me?

"Whatever she's told you about me, is all correct," Gabriel joked, almost having half a smile on his face to Gemma, who only laughed more.

What?

"Come in, there's some food left," said Carrie, the often quiet and young one of the group.

Gemma grabbed my arm, tugging me after her, finally allowing Gabriel's hand to get some rest. I looked over my shoulder with eyes that either asked if he was going to be okay, or can he come rescue him, but he had already been caught by one of my uncles.

I sighed, I should have taken three shots of gin before I came downstairs.

After what seemed like an eternity, but was only ten minutes, I finally made my way back to Gabriel. He was standing in a corner, holding two glasses of wine. When his eyes met mine, he gave me a nod, that was not very boyfriend like and outstretched a glass of white towards me.

"I figured you might need it."

I looked at the glass, for probably a second too long.

"You don't want it? Are you feeling okay after the gin?" Gabriel's hand pulled the wine glass, an inch away from my face.
