Slow But Steady

A/N: Had to use this from the Sonuckles Oneshots, instead of the original. Lol!! 😂 However, this chapter will be longer.

After getting the necklace on, Sonica fell asleep in Knuckettes arms as Knuckette slept herself while she sighed.

Knuckette thought to herself, "I'm frightened. But at least I sort of have her back. For now anyways."

A few hours later;

Sonica felt someone tap on her shoulder.

Sonica woke up and sees the doctor.

Thats when the doctor said, "Uhh Ms. Royale? Visiting hours ended 15 minutes ago."

Sonica got up even though it was a little hard due to her pregnancy said, "Thanks for telling me doc. I'll be back tomorrow. Even for my ultra sound as well"

The doctor asked, "By the way. Have you checked my fiancé's bouquet designs?"

Sonica answered, "Yeah we have. Now I gotta go pick up my son from the lobby."

She then walked to the lobby.

She then sees her ex-parents-in-law with Satoshi as she asked them, "Can we help you?"

Lockette sniffed and said, "Oh no. W-we just came to check on our girl."

Sonica gives them a casual stare before she said, "Very well. Come on Satoshi. We're leaving."

The 11 year old hedgehog stood up and walks to his mother.

Before the two of them can leave, Lenny-Lee said, "Wait."

Sonica looks at him and Lockette before they walked to them.

Lenny-Lee then said, "Listen, we know we haven't been good in-laws and everything but..."

Lockette bows her head in shame and said in a shameful tone, "We really owe you a gigantic apology Sonica. And we're also sorry for the loss of your mother-in-law."

Lenny-Lee then said with condolence in his tone, "...And we're sorry about your husband too."

Sonica sighed deeply before looking at her oldest son.

She then said as she turned to her Ex-in-laws, "I need more time. But I'm seeing your daughter again. But we're taking things slow this time."

Sonica looked down as Lenny-Lee as Locke looks down in shame.

Before Lockette could say anything but Sonica said, "Yes I know. Look, she said she takes responsibility for what happened. But I only did it cause I hallucinated thinking my husband was alive."

She sighed deeply before Satoshi and Sonica walked out.

Lenny-Lee looked at his wife and said, "This is just a disaster. Our girl is..."

Lockette then said as he trailed off, "At least she finally believes her. Although I'm very happy to be a grandma."
