After Danni had directed Nicky to her house, the car slowed to a stop and they sat in a brief moment of silence.
"We need to be more careful," said Danni, interrupting the quiet.
"Yes. We do. I do. I was out of order today, I forgot where I was."
"It's not just you, it's me too. Toby thinks you've got a crush on me."
"Oh if only he knew!" Giggled Nicky, placing her hand on Danni's knee.
Instantly both girls felt that surge of electricity flow through them, and the tingle up their spine. Danni gulped. Nicky did things to her she had only dreamed of. Ten months. That was all she had to wait. Then she could feel like this everyday.
Nicky removed her hand and blushed, "sorry. I'll be more careful."
She turned away from her student, and there was another silence. It wasn't awkward, more a pause for thought. In fact the two girls found it quite fulfilling that they could endure moments of quiet together without being stifled or feeling the need to speak and shatter the atmosphere.
"So this is your house?" Asked Nicky, pointing out of he window to the red brick house to the side of the car. It was modest, but homely and welcoming. Perfect, thought Danni.
"Yep. It's not much, but it's home."
"It looks lovely."
"I can't wait until I can go inside."
"Ten months and you can."
"Ten months. Anyway, now I know where you live in case you ever need another lift."
"I might have to take you up on that offer at some point," winked Danni.
"I hope you will," smiled Nicky back.
Looking into her teacher's eyes in the confined space, Danni wanted nothing more than the taste her sweet lips and wrap her arms around her. Danni knew she would taste good, and she would feel soft. Their bodies would melt into each other. Danni thought back to the weekend and their kind-of kiss. She couldn't wait until that was on a bed with-
A light patting of her shoulder brought Danni back into the real world.
"Danni? Wake up. Time to get out of the car."
"Sorry."
"What were you dreaming about?"
"Ugh, I don't think I should answer that."
"Ah ok. I get you. Right. Well. See you tomorrow then."
"Yeah," said Danni as she climbed out of the car. She pushed the door shut and stood back from it, waving Nicky off as she pulled away. She was fucking perfect.
Walking into her house, Danni dumped her bag on the floor and went to her room. It was homework time. The worst part of the day. Even Nicky had decided to hand out homework that day, and Danni was now silently cursing her insanely hot teacher.
The rest of the night passed uneventfully, and Danni drifted off into a peaceful sleep.

Nicky pulled up outside the Starbucks with a grin on her face. It was a Wednesday morning, the middle of the week, yet she couldn't have felt better. Her life was pretty complicated, but she had a plan and she was happy. What more could she want?
Waiting at the coffee bar for one of the employees to call out her name and hand her a cup with an inevitably wrong version of 'Nicky' scrawled on the side of it, she glanced around. Thy was funny. She hadn't noticed before that a group of kids from one of her classes had walked in and were standing in line. They were huddled close together and grinning, clearly they were sharing some gossip. If she listened closely maybe she could tell Danni...
Nicky shuffled a little bit closer to the group, turning her back to them so that they wouldn't recognise her. It didn't really matter if they did, but it would certainly be a more fruitful quest if they didn't see that their teacher was listening in on them. Attempting to zone out the background noise, Nicky's ears centred in on the group, catching snippets.
"...last night..."
"Yeah Toby and..."
"...saw on TV..."
"Awesome! How did he..."
"...in his garage..."
"Yeah, after school..."
"...I know man!"
"Third base? Really?"
Nicky's ears really pricked up after that. She tried to recall all of the bases, but she thought she had it covered. Third base. That was-wait that was oral, wasn't it? This was actually some quality gossip. So, ignoring all the irrelevant bits, Nicky realised that Toby, from Danni's maths class, had gotten to third base last night after school in his garage. She must have been classy whoever she was.
"...but isn't he going..."
"Apparently, she dragged..."
"Well I heard she..."
"Who was it again?"
Ahh yes. Here it was. Who was the slut then?
"Danni Matthews."
What? No! It can't have been. Danni wouldn't have, would she? Nicky's heart dropped like a lead balloon. They had made a promise! She thought she didn't have to physically say the words 'wait for me' because she thought Danni knew the true extent of which she felt for her. Obviously not. She really hoped it wasn't true. She needed to talk to Danni.
Forgetting her coffee, Nicky stormed out of the shop and made it in record time to work. The staff room was buzzing with conversation as she walked in, and she sat down next to some of her departmental colleagues. They were already in the midst of a heated conversation.
"But I've had her in my class, she's a bright girl you know, sweet," said Barbara Wilcox, the oldest and nicest colleague that Nicky knew of.
"Yes, but we all know her reputation!" Laughed another.
"We do, she's been a bit of a slow starter this year! Only the one in two weeks! If it was last year she's have screwed at least three by this point!"
That comment left the group in stitches. Nicky really hoped they weren't talking about who she thought they were. A slut? She was nothing of the kind! Sure, she had kissed Nicky, but the passion had overcome them both, it wasn't that Danni couldn't keep it in her trousers so to speak. Was it?
"Apparently her best friend is dating him though!"
"Lily Harrop?"
"Yes, I knew Matthews was not the most saintly, but I knew thought she would go behind that poor girl's back. They're joined at the hip!"
Nicky couldn't stand this for much longer. She need air. Or to vomit. Or both. Danni couldn't, no, wouldn't do that to her would she?
It was like Jenny all over again. Oh god. Memories of scraps of clothes flying in the wind, squeaking of a bed frame against hard wood flooring and Drake's music came flooding back. Ugh. It repulsed Nicky to jut think about that. It couldn't be as ugly this time. It would have to be a clean break. Leave her behind. Move on. Start again. Why did Nicky always fall for the ones who were so bad for her? It was infuriating.
