"Was that a proposal?" Nicky whispered, turning with a raised eyebrow to Danni.

"Maybe it was."

"Maybe?"

"Yeah. Depends if you're good enough in bed for me to put up with for the rest of my life."

"Oh you don't need to worry about that."

"Oh really? How come?"

"Believe me, you'll find out soon enough."

That one phrase was enough to send a strong shiver down Danni's spine. She really couldn't wait to find out. She looked into Nicky's mischievous eyes and had no doubt that Nicky was telling the truth about her ability in bed: that one prelude in the lift plus the nice awakening she had had that morning definitely added some evidence for it. Grinning, and still holding Nicky's hand, Danni refocused her attention to the now kissing newly weds in front of her.

After the ceremony, the photos began. Danni was pleasantly surprised by the fact that Sean welcomed her into his wedding photos with Nicky - she had assumed Nicky would be part of the album, but not really her, and she was slightly embarrassed by his generosity towards her. She had only had a couple of glasses of prosecco, but already she was feeling slightly light headed. When Nicky took her next trip to the bar she asked for a soft drink in an attempt to clear her head. The weekend could have been the last time the pair would spend quality time together and Danni didn't want to miss out on that. By the look of it, neither did Nicky, as she returned with two Diet Cokes and they made their way into the reception hall, making polite conversation with some of Sean's elderly relatives as they walked.

The couple were seated with good company - Mala and her boyfriend (Danni still couldn't remember his name), Linda, and a few of Melissa's friends. Compared to some of the other tables, theirs was a fairly young and likely one, an Danni found herself nearly crying through laughter after barely ten minutes. She was in hysterics at a particularly funny story, when she felt a hand on her bare thigh. The sudden contact startled Danni at first, but when she realised it was Nicky, she turned to face her girlfriend and grinned. Instantly she was bemused at the look on Nicky's face. She couldn't quite pin down what that look was, somewhere between lust and amusement, but all Danni knew was that Nicky was damn sexy with that look on her face.

"What?" Danni giggled, slightly intimidated by such an intense stare.

Nicky leaned in to Danni closer, and that almost familiar feeling of the rest of the world zoning out appeared again, an her eyes focussed in on Nicky's lips. Everyone around them was talking loudly and laughing, but Danni heard Nicky's whisper above it all.

"You're beautiful when you laugh, I've never looked at you when you laugh before."

Danni blushed instantly, but smiled straight back at her girlfriend.

"Why thank you very much," she whispered, stretching out her words to tease Nicky.

Danni then bit her lip innocently, and she saw Nicky's eyebrows raise at that movement. Nicky moved in even closer, and Danni could feel her breath on her own lips as Nicky whispered.

"You're fucking sexy when you do that."

"What?" Danni replied innocently, staring straight into Nicky's eyes, watching them intently as they slowly changed to a more green colour.

"That," Nicky smirked, flicking her eyes to Danni's teeth biting her lip.

Danni was aware of the heartbeat in her head. She knew she was in public. She knew she shouldn't kiss Nicky. But still, the one all-consuming thought she had in her head was the desire to grab Nicky's face and mash their lips together. She didn't want a soft, tentative kiss; she wanted a passionate, aggressive kiss. Danni leaned in closer to Nicky.

Just as their lips were about to meet, Danni's shoulder was tapped. She was about to whip round and punch the perpetrator until she realised that it was a waitress, trying to squeeze her starter plate on to the table. Danni blushed and apologised, letting the girl put the plate in the space in front of her.

The meal was fairly uneventful, and the speeches passed quickly. Before Danni knew it, she was back drinking alcohol and the hall had been converted to a more suitable dancing area.

"Dance with me," Nicky grinned, grabbing Danni's free hand.

How could she say no to this beautiful woman? Danni placed her drink down on the side and allowed Nicky to guide her onto the dance floor. They were dancing to a nineties hit, grinning at each other and shaking their hips, when the DJ changed into a more modern track.

Danni found herself with one leg either side of Nicky's right leg, so she essentially had her own right leg between both of Nicky's. The girls were still fairly apart though, and didn't bump into each other as they carried on hacking their hips and waving their arms in the air.

Danni caught Nicky's eye partway through the song, and started to slow her rhythm, captivated by those beautiful eyes. Soon, they were much closer, and Danni felt the occasional brush of Nicky's silky smooth leg against her own. Danni bit her lip once again, knowing that Nicky liked it. All of a sudden, Nicky stopped moving, and stood still staring open mouthed at Danni. Taking a small step closer to her girlfriend, Danni moved so their bodies were touching very slightly. Automatically feeling slightly unstable pressed that close to another, Danni reached out and grabbed onto Nicky's hips, but this only brought the pair closer. Nicky grinned, and placed her hands around Danni's back, leaning her head on Danni's shoulder. Danni thought that Nicky's actions were a bit odd, but as the older girl started to sway to a slow beat she realised what was going on. Danni let herself relax into Nicky's grip and rested her head on Nicky's shoulder. They were wrapped in each other's arms and oblivious to the world as they swayed gently from side to side.

The music died down and Danni opened her eyes, not even realising she had ever closed them. She just felt so at one with Nicky, as if they truly were made for each other.

As the night wore on, Danni felt so close to Nicky. She didn't know how she would ever survive if she lost her. She tried to push all thoughts of telling her parents out of her mind, and enjoy the evening with Nicky.
