After another impressive week, Frankie and Val were back on the dance floor for Week 3 of Dancing with the Stars, and the theme of the night? Bond Night, which brought out the glitz, glamour, and mystery of James Bond films. For Frankie, this was the perfect opportunity to show off a new side of her talent—seductive, smooth, and sensual.
Having tackled the Quickstep in Week 2 with mixed results, Frankie now had to focus on the sultry Rumba, a dance known for its emotional intensity and intricate hip movements. With the pressure of keeping her momentum going, Frankie worked tirelessly in rehearsals alongside Val, who was eager to help her conquer this dance's delicate nature.
Val's focus shifted as he approached this week's challenge. "Okay, Frankie, the Rumba is all about connection. It's slower, it's smoother, and it needs to feel sensual. You've got the athleticism, but now it's about telling a story—being in control and yet vulnerable at the same time."
Frankie, her competitive spirit still fresh from last week's success, nodded. "I can do this. I want to show the judges that I can handle a slower pace, that I can feel the music, not just execute the steps."
Val smiled, encouraging her. "Exactly. The more you embody the music, the more your performance will come to life. Let's break it down—focus on your hips and legs first, then we'll add the connection and the drama."
Frankie's confessional:
"I'm nervous because the Rumba is so different. It requires a level of vulnerability and sensuality that doesn't come naturally to me. Luckily, finding love with Rob has made me more open and I think I can portray this character."

The pace of rehearsals shifted significantly this week, as the focus was now on the fluidity and connection of the Rumba. Frankie initially struggled with the sensual movement required for the dance, particularly the sway of her hips and maintaining the slow, deliberate tempo. She was used to pushing her limits with speed and athleticism, but this dance demanded restraint and smoothness.
"I know you've got the strength, but the key is your fluidity. Think of the Rumba as an extension of your body—each movement should flow into the next," Val instructed, demonstrating the subtle curve of his body. "This is about control, but also about letting go."
Frankie gave it her all, trying to lean into the graceful, flowing nature of the dance. There were moments when she felt completely in sync with the rhythm and Val's lead, but other times, she caught herself thinking too much about the technique.

As the night arrived, the ballroom was filled with anticipation. The sultry tones of a classic Bond theme song played, and Frankie and Val emerged from the shadows, dressed to impress in sleek, glamorous costumes. Frankie was a vision of elegance, her demeanor more poised and sensual than ever before.
Julianne Hough's voice echoed in the ballroom: "It's time for some Bond allure! Will Frankie Gomez and Val Chmerkovskiy bring us the passion and intensity of a Bond villain and their secret agent lover? Let's find out!"
The couple took their positions on the floor, and the music started. Frankie's movements were initially more reserved, but she slowly allowed herself to relax into the dance. The opening was smooth, with her legs flowing gracefully, hips swaying just as Val had instructed. She seemed to shed her nerves as she and Val locked eyes, the chemistry between them undeniable.
Midway through the routine, Frankie found her confidence, letting the emotion of the music take over. The judges could see her transformation from stiff and controlled to confident and seductive.
Once they finished, the crowd erupted into applause, and Frankie and Val shared a celebratory moment. They made their way to the judges, who were already eager to share their thoughts.

Daniel Craig, who had been observing closely from the judges' table, spoke first. "I have to say, you brought the essence of Bond to life tonight. There was a real elegance and chemistry between you two. You told a story without uttering a word. Well done."
Carrie Ann was next. "I loved how you started slow and controlled, but then you really let go towards the end. There were a couple of moments where you could have had more fluidity in your arms, but the connection with Val was palpable. That's what I wanted to see."
Derek grinned widely. "That was one of your best performances. You were absolutely in the moment tonight, and that made the difference. Keep that connection flowing, and you'll only improve."
Bruno wrapped it up with his usual flair. "Absolutely stunning! You both have such chemistry on stage. You took the Rumba from a slow burn to an inferno. Loved it!"

Julianne turned to the judges with a smile. "Alright, judges, what are we thinking?"
Carrie Ann: "9!"
Derek: "9!"
Bruno: "9!"
Daniel Craig: "9!"
Julianne raised an eyebrow, teasing a little. "That's four 9s! A total score of 36 out of 40 for Frankie and Val tonight!"

With the high praise from the judges and a solid score of 36, Frankie and Val were ecstatic. As they left the ballroom floor, Frankie's face was beaming with pride. "I'm so happy with how that went," she said, her nerves completely behind her now. "It feels amazing to have this moment where I can just let go and show who I am."
Val, equally proud, wrapped an arm around her. "You were incredible tonight. This is what happens when you trust the process and trust yourself. You were all in, and that's what makes this so special."
With another top score, Frankie and Val continued their steady climb in the competition. Once again, it was a non-elimination night and Frankie and Val were safe to dance another day. As they prepared for the next challenge, there was no doubt that Frankie was beginning to thrive in the ballroom, and Week 4 would bring even more excitement.
