CHAPTER 26

"I forgot to give this to you, love."

We are currently heading somewhere to meet his friends tonight. Kasalukuyan kaming naka-stop dahil red light ang ilaw ng stoplight. And we were just the two of us. Naiwang mag-isa si Mama sa hotel.

He handed me a small box and place it in my lap.

"What is it?" I ask curiously.

"Open it so you wanna know." he answered.

Kinuha ko naman iyon at binuksan. I saw a moissanite engagement ring inside. My mouth fell out and still in shock

"I should put it your finger, Ms. Hommerson.." he said. Kinuha naman niya ulit iyon at tinanggal sa box. "Give me your hand, love." he added.

Hindi ako makapagsalita. I just grab his face and kissed him passionately.

"You're too much, Alas." I said.

"Why? Give me your left hand.." hindi ko pa man inaabot ang aking kamay pero kinuha na niya iyon. I just watch him while putting the ring on my left hand.

I even felt that he kissed me after. It was deep and sweet kiss.

"I can't believe you, Alas." I just commented but I heard him laugh.

"Why? You're too adorable right now." he tease as he continue driving.

"Do I deserve you?" I mumble that makes him stop.

"Ara!" Bahagya nitong tinigil muli ang sasakyan sa gilid ng kalsada. "What are you talking about?" he ask me curiously.

"Alas!" I let out a deep sigh. "Honestly, I have this idea..." napalunok ako ng laway. "You are successful right now Alas." I continue talking. "You are at the peak of your career and you know–you it bothers me. Do you want to marry because of pressure? Or do you want to marry me because you have feelings for me?"

"Ara.." he let out a deep sigh. "Listen! I do love you. What were you thinking huh? I might pressure but I am definitely sure with you. And my success right now—I worked hard for this."

"I know you worked hard for it—and those days that you were working hard, I'm not there. I'm not there to support you Alas. And you know, honestly–my conscience is haunting me."

Naramdaman ko nalang ang pagyakap nito sa akin. "You were just overthinking, Ara. Stop it!" he said. "It's definitely fine with me–ang mahalaga, you came back for me. You're here again and I don't want to missed a chance. I just want to spend time with you forever.." he calm me.

Napayakap ako sa kanya. "Why are you doing this?"

"Because I want it. My heart wants it, Ara..so please. Stop thinking anymore and please just be happy. I don't want you to get sad." he added.

Lord, ano po bang nagawa ko para maranasan ko ito? You are so good to me, Lord! I am so much blessed to have a man like him.

"Starting right now, I don't want you to think about it Ara." he cup my face. "We will become one soon at kung ano ang mayroon ako—it will definitely yours as well." he kissed my forehead. "Smile, Ms. Hommerson!" he added.

Hindi magawa ang gusto niya dahil nagiging emosyonal ako ngayon.

He continued driving the car. Magkadaop lang ang aming palad.

"How's the condo unit you've check earlier? Did you bought it?" he began our conversation again.

"No, you told me that we will talk first." I answered.
