The cafeteria was its usual chaos—voices echoing off the walls, plates clattering, and the occasional loud laugh from a table across the room. I grabbed a tray, stacked it with whatever food looked halfway edible, and scanned the room for a spot. The usual Bakusquad table was hard to miss, given how Kirishima's laugh practically echoed to the rafters.

I didn't bother asking if there was room. I just walked over, plopped my tray on the table, and dropped into an open seat like I owned it.

"I sorted out my internship," I said casually, stabbing a piece of fried chicken with my fork.

The conversation came to a dead halt. All heads turned to me, and I could practically hear the collective "what now?"

Mina leaned forward, eyes wide. "Wait—you decided? Finally?"

Kirishima grinned. "Which pro are you working with? I bet it's someone badass, right?"

Sero gave me a knowing smirk. "Yeah, like Gang Orca or maybe Best Jeanist. You've got the whole laid-back thing going for you. Or are you pulling a Todoroki and working with a family friend?"

Denki, mid-bite, just mumbled through a mouthful of food. "Is'it Hawks?"

I chewed slowly, deliberately, as I let them guess. Then I swallowed, smirked, and leaned back in my chair. "None of them."

That got a collective round of confused blinking.

"What do you mean 'none of them'?" Bakugou snapped, glaring at me over his tray like I'd just said I hated spicy food. "You got offers. You're not stupid enough to pass those up, right?"

"Oh, I'm plenty stupid," I quipped. "But nah, I'm not passing up. I'm working with Aizawa."

Kirishima nearly choked. "You're interning with Aizawa-sensei?!"

Mina's eyes went wide. "Wait—can you even do that?"

"I can and I did." I took another bite, completely unbothered.

Sero laughed, shaking his head. "Man, that's either the laziest or the boldest move I've ever heard of. Respect."

Bakugou's glare intensified. "You really think working with Aizawa's gonna be easier than a pro agency? You're gonna regret that decision."

"Probably," I said with a shrug. "But at least I don't have to kiss anyone's ass to get through it. Plus, I'm used to his whole 'suffer in silence' teaching method."

Mina snorted. "Honestly? Kinda genius. You don't even have to learn the ropes with a new mentor."

"Exactly," I said, pointing my fork at her. "Efficiency."

Kirishima laughed, shaking his head. "Man, you've got guts. Good luck with that."

"Thanks, Sharkboy," I said, smirking. "I'll need it."

Denki finally swallowed his food. "Do you think he'll let you nap on patrol?"

I grinned. "If he does, I'm never leaving."

The table erupted into laughter, but Bakugou just clicked his tongue in annoyance, muttering something about "idiots" before going back to his food. Still, I caught the faintest twitch of a smile before he hid it behind a bite of curry.

Internship sorted—and I got free entertainment at lunch. Not bad for a day's work.
