Bakugou stood awkwardly by the wall, glancing around my room like he was trying to figure out what to do next. I watched him for a moment before scooting over on my bed and patting the space beside me.

"You might as well sit down. Unless you plan on staring at the wall all night," I said, trying to lighten the mood.

"Tch," he grunted, but after a second's hesitation, he pushed off the wall and sat down beside me.

For a while, we didn't say much. The silence wasn't uncomfortable, though—it was the kind of quiet that felt like we both needed it. Like we were giving each other space to breathe.

Eventually, Bakugou broke it.

"So," he said, leaning back on his hands and staring at the ceiling. "You really okay, or are you just saying that so I'll shut up?"

I sighed, leaning back as well and resting my head against the wall. "Honestly? I don't know. Everything feels... heavy. Like I can't move fast enough to keep up with it all."

He didn't say anything right away, but I could see him frowning out of the corner of my eye.

"That's stupid," he said finally, but his voice was softer than usual. "You've been through a lot. No one expects you to just snap back like nothing happened."

I blinked at him, surprised by the unexpected wisdom in his words. "Since when are you the voice of reason?"

He shot me a glare, but I could tell he wasn't really mad. "Since I'm not a complete idiot. Unlike some people."

I laughed quietly, shaking my head. "Fair enough."

We sat there for a while, talking about nothing and everything. Bakugou was blunt, as always, but there was an honesty to him that I found oddly comforting.

"I never really had friends," I admitted at some point, my voice barely above a whisper. "I mean, I had people I knew, but... no one like this."

Bakugou snorted. "Yeah, well, I didn't ask to be your friend, you know."

I laughed again, a little louder this time. "Thanks, man. That means a lot."

He rolled his eyes but didn't argue, and for a moment, the silence stretched between us again.

Then, out of nowhere, Bakugou said, "You're not as annoying as I thought you'd be."

I blinked, turning to look at him. "Uh... thanks?"

He was staring at the wall, his face slightly red, and it took me a second to realize he was actually embarrassed.

Before I could say anything else, he turned to look at me, and for a moment, his crimson eyes met mine. The intensity in his gaze made my breath catch, and before I could think about it, we were leaning closer to each other.

It wasn't planned. It wasn't even something I'd thought about. It just... happened.

Our lips met in a small, tentative kiss, the kind that didn't last long but left a weighty silence in its wake.

When we pulled back, we both froze, staring at each other like we were trying to figure out what just happened.

"Uh..." I started, but my brain wasn't forming sentences.

Bakugou's face was redder than I'd ever seen it, and he quickly looked away, crossing his arms and scowling. "Don't make it weird," he muttered, but his voice lacked its usual bite.

I wasn't sure what to say or do, so I just nodded, my heart racing in my chest.

The quiet that followed wasn't awkward, but it was heavy, like we both needed a moment to think. Whatever just happened between us, it wasn't something either of us could ignore. But for now, neither of us was ready to say anything else about it.

So we just sat there, side by side, lost in our own thoughts.
