Chapter 13: Asking in Unexpected Places

"I didn't think, of all places you would be here, of all nights like this and so many events goin on woth the school and the town. I thought you might be at least, hanging out somewhere. Drinking, or feeding, but hey, I get it. What's better than, just staring up at the sky all day and looking at the moon. Makes you just wanna howl."

But Damon dropped his smirk and his smile as his blue eyes stared at his brother who was neither paying attention to me or caring. Stefan was leaned on the balcony staring up at the sky. Damon had never seen him in a mood like that, not since a long time. Years in fact. It bothered him. Usually, nothing, bothered Damon, but he felt it.

"Hey Stef!"

"It's a Comet, Tonight Damon."

Damon frowned and looked at his brother.

"Yeah, and? What about it? What's so special?"

"I remember when, I told Elena. I think Neryssa would have loved it too. I would have loved to see the beauty of it and how she would have smiled."

Damon frown dropped and he sighed

"No news, yet huh, from the family either? I take it, Nothing."

"I don't understand. I just don't, know, where she could be. I talked with her mother and her brother and her father. Even, they were loss for words and in pain with not knowing. The grief and the pain Damon. Can, you imagine, what they're going through?"

"Humans mourn Stefan. There is never, no ending grief for them."

"We mourn too Damon."

"Not, in the same way. We are nothing, like humans. I mean where is this coming from? You dreading on something that you can't fix or undo. If Neryssa's gone, she's gone. Just, like Elena.'

"NO!"

Stefan raised, his voice and yelled shouting.

Damon turned to look at him now, he didn't like that either.

"She's out there and she's alive! Neryssa is out there Damon. I can feel it. I can't track her and I can't find her. I have searched, the entire town and asked everyone a million questions. I have even went to witches. I searched Damon, high and low, and still. I am lost.

"Maybe, she is just not in this town Stefan."

Stefan then looked at him

"Then, where else. I can't track her?"

Stefan was deep in thought

"Then, you need someone who can. And, unless you got that, then no end."

"What do you want?"
